Ottawa Pro Movers Inc. is seeking an experienced Moving Truck Driver to join our residential and commercial moving operations in Ottawa and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time, permanent position averaging 40 hours per week, with compensation of $40.00 per hour.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating company moving trucks as well as actively participating in the physical moving process.

Key responsibilities

• Operate company moving trucks for residential and commercial relocations.
• Perform documented pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Safely load, secure, transport and unload customers' belongings.
• Ensure cargo is properly protected and secured.
• Maintain vehicle logbooks, trip reports and delivery documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding scheduled moves.
• Report vehicle, equipment and safety concerns.
• Assist in maintaining company vehicles and moving equipment.
• Participate in loading, unloading and other physical moving duties.
• Work cooperatively with other members of the moving crew.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional truck-driving experience.
• Valid driver's licence acceptable for operating company vehicles in Ontario.
• Satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy household goods.
• Knowledge of cargo securement procedures.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers and dispatch.
• Reliable and organized, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

No minimum formal education is required.

Schedule

The position averages 40 hours per week.

Daily hours may vary depending on customer bookings, travel distance, traffic conditions, building access requirements and operational needs. Morning, daytime, evening and weekend work may be required.

All hours worked will be recorded and compensated in accordance with applicable Ontario employment standards.
