Role Description This role is for autonomous part-time IT Specialist or Company that has IT specialists available 24/7 for onlinnd and occasional on-site visits withing the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The IT Specialist will manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, starting fro Microsoft 365 full implementaion, including servers, workstations, and network devices, to ensure stable and secure operations. Daily responsibilities include monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, implementing updates and patches, and supporting internal users with hardware, software, and connectivity problems. The role also involves configuring and administering networks, enforcing security protocols, documenting IT procedures, and collaborating with operations and compliance teams to align technology with business and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Information MS365, incl. Power Automate ans Powe BI is a must!
- Experience in marine transportation and logistics is an asset.
- Need to understand operating systems, hardware, and enterprise software environments.
- Strong Network Administration capabilities, such as configuring routers and switches, managing LAN/WAN environments, and monitoring network performance.
- Hands-on Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
- Experience with Network Security practices, including firewalls, access controls, endpoint protection, and basic incident response.
- Effective Customer Service orientation with clear communication skills and the ability to support users at varied technical levels.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with compliance-focused environments (e.g., ISO standards) and documentation of IT processes is an asset.
- Ability to work on-site, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
