Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 48 weeks

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable SharePoint Online architectures that support business, information management, and operational requirements, including site structures, hub models, metadata frameworks, and integrated content strategies.
Provide expert technical advice, impact assessments, and implementation recommendations to SharePoint Tenant Administrators and governance bodies while respecting tenant authority boundaries.
Define and implement coherent site hierarchies, hub associations, navigation models, content types, taxonomy, metadata schemas, and permissions structures to ensure usability, scalability, and maintainability.
Establish and maintain governance standards, including naming conventions, provisioning models, lifecycle management, and usage guidelines, ensuring alignment with information management, security, and compliance requirements.
Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate operational and business needs into fit-for-purpose SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 technical solutions.
Configure and build SharePoint components such as sites, libraries, lists, and pages, and develop integrated Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to automate processes and enhance functionality.
Plan and support migration of content from legacy systems and file repositories, ensuring alignment with retention policies, disposition schedules, and enterprise records management frameworks.
Design and recommend scalable access control models using Azure AD and SharePoint groups, enforce least privilege principles, and mitigate risks related to security, governance, and operations.
Maintain and improve SharePoint solutions through troubleshooting, performance tuning, search optimization, scripting (PowerShell/PnP/Graph), reporting, and continuous monitoring of usage and compliance.
Conduct testing and user acceptance activities, develop documentation and training materials, and support change management while monitoring Microsoft 365 roadmap impacts.
Provide operational sustainment, documentation, and knowledge transfer services, ensuring ongoing compliance with security, information management, privacy, and governance requirements.
Mentor non-developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and skill development, and collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience developing SharePoint Online (and related Microsoft 365 / Power Platform services) applications and services.
2+ years of experience developing reports and dashboards using SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 services.
3+ years of experience administering SharePoint Online services within an organization of 500+ users.
3+ years of experience in SharePoint Online services governance and information management practices.
