Internship Overview
As Benefits Intern, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience in the administration of employee health, retirement, and wellness programs. Students will build practical skills, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to real projects that support our business, customers and communities.
Day to Day
- Support the administration of employee health, retirement, and wellness programs
- Assist with processing benefit enrolments and maintaining accurate employee data
- Reconcile benefit-related payroll deductions and identify discrepancies
- Conduct data audits to help ensure benefit information is complete and accurate
- Investigate and resolve routine benefit data and deduction discrepancies
- Respond to basic employee benefit inquiries while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide general administrative support to the Benefits team and assist with additional benefits-related projects as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Enrolled in a degree or diploma program, such as:
- Agribusiness
- Business Management
- Human Resource Management
- Accounting/ Finance Management
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn, with a proactive and independent approach to completing assigned work
- Full-time availability for a 4-month term, May – Aug
