Job Title: Android Developer -Infotainment

Location: Ottawa, ON

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Employment Type: Full-Time Perm

Salary: CAD 100-115K/Year

Skills:

  • Good understanding of Android architecture and Android HAL Layer, preferably Android-O or later
  • Understanding of Automotive SoC architecture (application processor and Vehicle processor)
  • Experience in Android code base - Application layer (Java), JNI, Native frameworks (C)
  • Good understanding of Android programming environment using Binders, Shared memory, IPC mechanisms, etc.
  • Good knowledge in Android Services/Framework layer and its debugging
  • Programming experience preferably in Kotlin, C and C++
  • Expertise in Vehicle Interface & knowledge on Infotainment systems
  • Debugging skills to troubleshoot problems in any layer of Android
  • Application development for Android Infotainment systems covering following areas - Navigation, Connectivity (WiFi, BT), Projection (Android Auto, Carplay)
  • Tools: GIT & Gerrit, JIRA, Android source build system, Android debugging tools

Responsibilities

Develop and debug Android software across application, JNI, native framework, and services/framework layers for automotive infotainment systems. Troubleshoot issues involving navigation, connectivity such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and projection systems such as Android Auto and CarPlay.

Requirements

Candidates should have a strong understanding of Android architecture, preferably Android O or later, automotive SoC architecture, Android programming environments, and vehicle interfaces. Experience with Java, Kotlin, C, or C++, Android services and frameworks, IPC mechanisms, infotainment systems, and debugging is sought; familiarity with Git, Gerrit, JIRA, Android source builds, and debugging tools is also listed.
