The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in keeping the property safe, functional, and well-maintained. Key Responsibilities
- Complete routine building maintenance and minor repairs under the direction of the property management team.
- Perform painting, drywall patching and other cosmetic repairs in residential suites and common areas.
- Replace light bulbs and lamps, clean fixtures, and assemble or move furniture as required.
- Support the upkeep of building grounds, common areas and parking facilities, identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with loading, unloading and moving supplies, equipment and materials, including completing property-related errands.
- Respond to resident maintenance concerns and urgent situations within the scope of the role, escalating technical repairs when required.
- Perform light janitorial and other property-related duties as needed while following all applicable safety requirements and company procedures.
- Practical knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and supplies commonly used in building maintenance.
- Experience completing painting, drywall patching and general minor repairs.
- Ability to organize assigned work, manage priorities and work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a respectful, resident-focused approach.
- Ability to safely perform physical duties, including lifting, carrying, bending, climbing ladders and remaining on your feet for extended periods.
- Valid driver's licence, clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in residential, facilities or general building maintenance, or comparable hands-on repair experience.
- Relevant building maintenance, trades or workplace safety training will be considered an asset.
