Description

Paladin Canada is seeking a talented Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join our Community & Engagement team in our Saskatoon office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, connecting with communities, and supporting initiatives that contribute to positive outcomes across northern Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, this role works closely with Indigenous Nations, community organizations, municipal leadership, and internal teams to support meaningful engagement across northern Saskatchewan. The Stakeholder Engagement Advisor also supports Paladin’s commitments under its Mutual Benefit Agreements and helps ensure community perspectives are understood and considered across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain respectful, long-term relationships with Indigenous and municipal leadership, community organizations, and grassroots community members.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities, including community meetings, leadership briefings, site visits, workshops, and informal discussions.
  • Travel to northern Saskatchewan communities to support and lead community engagement sessions.
  • Represent Paladin at career fairs, information sessions, open houses, conferences, trade shows, and other stakeholder events, while documenting questions, commitments, and follow-up actions.
  • Support the implementation of Paladin’s Mutual Benefit Agreements with Indigenous Nations by tracking commitments and deliverables.
  • Coordinate engagement logistics for remote locations, considering seasonal access, travel constraints, local schedules, language needs, and community protocols.
  • Work with the Communications team to present mining, exploration, environmental, and regulatory information in clear, accessible language and accurately convey community feedback to project teams.
  • Maintain engagement records, commitment and issue logs, contact information, and follow-up actions, and prepare regular reports on activities, emerging themes, risks, commitments, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with environmental, regulatory, procurement, human resources, and project teams to incorporate community interests and local priorities into planning and decision-making.
  • Support community benefit initiatives related to employment, training, procurement, education, community investment, and local business participation.
  • Identify emerging concerns, relationship risks, misinformation, and potential project impacts, and support issue resolution, crisis response planning, and appropriate engagement strategies.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • University degree in business, public policy, communications, Indigenous Studies, law, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience supporting Indigenous initiatives, preferably in the resource sector or northern Saskatchewan.
  • Progressively responsible experience leading or supporting Indigenous relations, stakeholder engagement, community investment, workforce development, or related initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Nations, with a strong understanding of Indigenous history, governance, protocols, rights, and meaningful engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong writing, organization, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and stakeholder or commitment-tracking systems, with the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Cultural awareness and a commitment to respectful, values-based engagement.
  • Understanding of the mining sector in northern Saskatchewan is considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Saskatchewan, including to remote northern communities and project locations, with occasional evening or weekend work as required.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and annual incentive program.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health and dental coverage, a health spending account, and an RRSP matching program.
  • Opportunity to grow your career with a growing company as we advance a major Saskatchewan mining project.
  • Collaborative, supportive, and safety-focused culture where your contributions are valued.
  • Meaningful work supporting Indigenous and community relationships across Saskatchewan.
  • Contribute to the development of one of Saskatchewan's future mining operations.
