Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused)

About the roleParabellyx Cybersecurity is hiring a mid-to-senior Full Stack Developer, weighted toward the backend, to build and run the data and scanning engine behind Luma. You will own the pipeline that turns raw scan results into the insights clients see, plus the APIs and databases underneath.Luma is our client-facing security platform. Luma Perimeter scans external attack surface and reports security scores and alerts daily across dozens of client organizations; Luma Cloud extends that into cloud posture. You will work directly with engineering leads and the security practice, and your work ships to real clients.

Parabellyx specializes in offensive security and continuous testing for leading Canadian and U.S. organizations, with offices in Richmond Hill, ON and Denver, CO.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the scanner and insights pipeline: ingest scan output, normalize it, score it, and store it for reporting

• Design and ship REST APIs that serve the Luma client portal, internal tools, and integrations

• Own database design and performance: schema changes, migrations, query tuning, and data retention

• Build ETL and background jobs that run reliably on a daily cadence, with monitoring and alerting for failed or missed runs

• Contribute to the client portal and internal dashboards on the frontend when a feature needs it (about one fifth to one third of your time)

• Write tests, review code, and document systems so the team can run them

• Partner with the security team so findings become clear, accurate alerts and scores clients can act on

• Help evolve CI/CD and day-to-day operability of the platform

What we are looking for

• 4+ years professional software development, with a clear backend emphasis and enough frontend ability to deliver a feature end to end. Mid and senior candidates welcome; we level the offer to experience

• Strong experience building and operating APIs and services in Python (FastAPI / similar); comfort working in a modern TypeScript codebase

• Solid relational database skills on PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, migrations, diagnosing slow queries

• Experience with data pipelines or scheduled processing, including large, messy, or inconsistent inputs

• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript (Angular a plus) and ability to ship UI without hand-holding

• Comfort with Git, code review, CI/CD, Docker/containers

• Clear written communication - we are distributed; decisions and handoffs happen in writing

• Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship; able to pass a CPIC background check and provide references when requested

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity exposure (preferred): vulnerability scanning, attack surface management, secure coding, or work in a security product / SOC - candidates who know what a finding means build better alerts

• Experience with workflow / orchestration engines, especially Prefect (or similar: Airflow, Dagster, Temporal)

• Cloud experience, especially Azure (AWS also useful), plus IaC and managed container services

• Familiarity with open-source cloud security or ASM tooling

• Object storage, queues, and observability tooling

• Azure AD/B2C, GitHub Actions, Pandas, OpenAI / AI-assisted features

• .NET or Microsoft Graph exposure

Compensation and how we work

CAD $110,000–$150,000, dependent on seniority.

Small product team, real ownership, hybrid from Richmond Hill with flexible remote options across Canada.
