Original job description

A Team That Gives You Room to Grow

At Park Landscape Group, we exist to enhance life outdoors and build long-term, rewarding careers for our team. Operating as Western Canada's premier commercial landscape partner, we deliver landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow management across Alberta.

We don't leave your career to chance. When you join Park, you join an earnest, hard-working team backed by modern equipment, clear safety standards, and real opportunities to advance.

The Role: Winter Services Crew Lead

We provide the tools, technology, and support; you bring the skill and dedication. In this role, you will play a key part in directing on-site crew operations, clearing snow and ice, and maintaining high service standards across commercial, residential, and public properties during the winter season.

Your Daily Impact:

Field Leadership & On-Site Supervision: Lead and work alongside crew members, conduct initial site assessments, assign tasks, perform real-time coaching, and inspect completed work to ensure quality standards "From Start to Satisfied".
Manual & Mechanical Operations: Perform strenuous manual labour (shovelling, ice chipping, salting) alongside the crew and supervise/operate sidewalk equipment (snow blowers, sweepers, power brooms, spreaders).
Asset Care & Equipment Management: Ensure all team equipment, tools, vehicles, and handheld devices are inspected, maintained, accounted for, and properly secured at shift end.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management: Lead daily Toolbox safety meetings, enforce strict SWP/SJP adherence and mandatory PPE compliance, and complete all safety, incident, and hazard reports.
Mobile Tech & Site Logging: Utilize mobile applications (e.g., Aspire, Asset Tiger, SiteDocs) to log daily site entries, verify work completions, upload photos, track timekeeping, and communicate site progress to Field Supervisors and Dispatch.
Team Culture & Operational Excellence: Promote high standards of workmanship, foster a positive, supportive team environment, and drive a strong safety culture.

Essentials for Success (Qualifications & Skills)

To thrive in this role, you will need a solid technical foundation and a strong work ethic:

Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in commercial snow removal or outdoor operations with field team leadership experience, thorough understanding of OHS principles, SWP/SJP, site hazard assessments, and basic equipment maintenance.
Skills: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract (required), safe operation of sidewalk clearing equipment, and intermediate proficiency using smartphone operational apps for site/safety logging.
Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform heavy physical labour, work outdoors in extreme winter conditions, maintain flexible availability for long/on-call hours (early mornings, days, nights, weekends, holidays), and demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills under challenging conditions.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Your rewards package is designed to support your daily success and long-term financial goals:

Competitive Hourly Wage: Based on experience and skill level.
Predictable Paychecks: Through our Alberta Hours of Work Averaging Agreement, we offer banked time to keep your pay steady during weather delays or seasonal shifts.
RRSP Matching Program: Company-matched contributions to help you save for the future.
Discretionary Incentives: Performance-based bonus opportunities offered at the Company’s discretion.
Gear & Modern Tools: We supply high-quality PPE, modern equipment, and clean machinery so you can work safely and efficiently ("Built for Busy").
Opportunity for Year-Round Growth: We actively retain top talent! High performers during the seasonal contract have the opportunity to transition into year-round roles across our landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow management divisions.
- Health & Dental Benefits & RRSP Matching: Eligible after 1 year of continuous service

Why Build Your Future with Park?

When you build your career with Park Landscape Group, you gain access to a platform built for long-term growth:

Visible Career Paths: Structured check-ins, performance mapping, and leadership advancement opportunities across four specialized divisions.
Investment in Learning: Dedicated resources for executive development, trade certifications, and ongoing professional training.

Work You Take Pride In: True pride in physical site transformations, knowing you are building outdoor spaces that make a lasting impact in our communities ("From Start to Satisfied").
