Intermediate Interior Designer

PARTISANS is a Toronto-based architecture and design studio working across architecture, interiors and product design, with projects in Canada and internationally.

We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with approximately five years of professional experience in an established architecture or interior design practice. We are particularly interested in designers with a strong understanding of architecture and a developed interest in interiors, who can contribute across different stages and scales of work.

At PARTISANS, interiors are considered from the earliest stages of a project, informing its spatial character, material direction and overall design. Our interiors team works closely with architects to develop these ideas through modelling, material exploration, detailed design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the conceptual, spatial and material development of interior projects.
• Develop design proposals through drawings, models, presentations and material studies.
• Design and detail interior elements, including millwork, furniture, finishes and custom assemblies.
• Participate in technical documentation and coordination using Revit and other design tools.
• Work closely with architects, consultants, suppliers and fabricators throughout project development.

Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for designers with solid professional experience, a strong portfolio of work and an understanding of how interior projects are developed and delivered.

An architectural background combined with experience in interiors is particularly welcome, although we are open to candidates with different educational and professional backgrounds.

We are looking for designers with proficiency in Rhino and Revit, experience contributing to interior detailing and documentation, and an interest in exploring automation and AI within design workflows. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset though not required.

We value designers who can work independently within their areas of experience, collaborate across disciplines and contribute to different aspects of the design process.

Location & Applications

This is a full-time, Toronto-based position, with work primarily undertaken in our studio. We welcome applicants from elsewhere in Canada and internationally, with relocation support available.
