Preferred Location: Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver

Position: Full-Time | Field-Based

About Paw Valley Distributors

Paw Valley Distributors is a growing Canadian pet products distributor representing an expanding portfolio of innovative pet brands from Canada and around the world.

Our product categories include premium treats, natural chews, pet grooming and wellness, toys, enrichment products, feeding accessories, pet beds, cat litter and more.

We are expanding our national reach and seeking an experienced sales professional to establish and grow our retail distribution network throughout Western Canada.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a results-driven Territory Sales Manager – Western Canada to spearhead new business development across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial sales professional to establish a territory, build retail relationships and introduce a strong portfolio of pet brands into new markets.

The ideal candidate will already have established connections within the Western Canadian pet retail industry and a proven track record of opening new accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Paw Valley's retail sales network throughout Western Canada.
  • Prospect, approach and secure new independent pet retailers and regional retail chains.
  • Establish relationships with store owners, buyers, purchasing managers and regional decision-makers.
  • Present Paw Valley's portfolio and secure initial product listings and purchase orders.
  • Develop strong customer relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Identify new opportunities in pet specialty, farm and feed, co-operative, garden centre and hardware retail channels.
  • Build a qualified sales pipeline and execute a strategic territory development plan.
  • Attend buyer meetings, industry trade shows and regional retail events.
  • Manage ongoing customer relationships and identify assortment expansion opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive feedback, account forecasts and sales reports.
  • Work with Paw Valley management to pursue larger regional retail opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the pet products industry.
  • Strong existing relationships with independent pet retailers or regional pet specialty chains in Western Canada.
  • Proven ability to establish new territories and secure new retail accounts.
  • Highly motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong product presentation, negotiation and business development skills.
  • Understanding of Canadian retail distribution, margins and merchandising.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Western Canada.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Opportunity
  • Competitive base salary.
  • Performance-based commission or bonus.
  • Vehicle or mileage allowance and approved travel expenses.
  • Opportunity to establish and grow a Western Canadian territory.
  • Long-term growth potential within an expanding national distribution company.
The Ideal Candidate

We want someone who knows the Western Canadian pet retail marketplace, has existing industry relationships and is excited about introducing innovative brands to new retailers.

This is a territory-building opportunity for a proven business developer - not simply an account servicing role.

If you have the connections, drive and experience to help build Paw Valley's presence throughout Western Canada, we'd like to hear from you.
