Financial Analyst I

Summary/Objective

The Financial Analyst collects and analyzes internal and external financial information to evaluate the company’s financial position, how financial decisions will impact short- and long-term growth, and make financial recommendations. The Financial Analyst also supports other financial functions, including, support audit requests and the invoicing process, and works with the Finance Team to accomplish other interdepartmental goals and quotas.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

1. Analyzing all billing procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement.
2. Preparing, issuing, and sending invoices.
3. Reviewing invoices to ensure billing accuracy.
4. Communicating with clients and other departments, resolving issues, and providing clarifications.
5. Ensuring clients' billing accounts are set up correctly and according to their requirements.
6. Maintaining updated records of accounts receivable.
7. Develop financial tools and templates that support decision making in various areas of the company.
8. Work with internal audit team to design and develop internal audit procedures relating to contractual billings, revenue recognition, and month end reporting.
9. Prepare detailed financial reconciliations and follow-up on the differences with different departments.
10. Assist the Finance Team with ad hoc projects.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any supervisory responsibility or direct reports.

Education and Experience

1. A bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
2. 2+ years financial analyst experience.
3. Excellent proficiency in Excel with ability to query and analyze large amounts of financial data. Familiarity with VBA Macros, SQL, and Tableau is preferred.
4. Good organizational and time management skills.
5. Strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to prioritize.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills – proven ability to professionally interface with functional teams including Operations and IT, as well as third party providers/clients.

Salary Range

$60,000.00 to $68,000.00 CAD

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Demands

This role requires sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is required for this position.
