We are building a talent pipeline for potential future Test Automation Developer – Intermediate opportunities within our Product Engineering Team.
As a Test Automation Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated tests, tools, simulators, and supporting infrastructure that improve the quality and reliability of software used in semiconductor manufacturing and factory automation environments.
Working closely with developers, product teams, and other engineering stakeholders, you will troubleshoot defects, strengthen testing practices and tools, and help accelerate reliable software delivery throughout the development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated functional, interface, regression, and performance tests
- Design and implement automated testing solutions that improve product quality and reduce manual testing effort.
- Integrate and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines, supporting configuration management, release validation, and test environment consistency.
- Apply modern test automation practices and tools, including AI-assisted technologies, to improve test development productivity, coverage analysis, and defect investigation.
- Develop and maintain test plans, execute tests, and communicate test results.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of software defects, collaborating with developers and stakeholders to identify, reproduce, document, and verify issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing infrastructure, including automated frameworks, test environments, simulators, containers, and supporting utilities.
- Analyze automated test coverage, identify testing gaps, and contribute to effective regression testing strategies.
- Develop and maintain simulators, utilities, SDK code samples, and other testing tools.
- Work closely with team members, customers, management, and other departments to support software quality initiatives.
What You Bring
You are a detail-oriented problem solver with experience developing automated testing solutions and a passion for improving software quality. You bring strong programming and analytical skills, experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You enjoy learning new technologies, investigating complex issues, and finding efficient ways to improve testing processes and product quality.
We are looking for a team member with:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in test automation, software development, software testing, or a related role.
- Experience developing automated tests and testing solutions using frameworks such as Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or similar technologies.
- Experience with a programming and scripting languages such as C# (preferred), C++, Java, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex software, integration, deployment, and test environment issues.
- Experience with Linux-based automated test environments, virtual machines, containers, source control, build pipelines, and release processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and apply modern development and testing practices, including responsible use of AI-assisted tools.
Nice to Have
Additional experience that would be an asset:
- Background in semiconductor manufacturing, factory automation, or another complex industrial software environment.
- Experience building or maintaining automated testing frameworks and infrastructure, including reusable libraries, simulators, SDK validation tools, and supporting utilities.
- Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed, multi-component, or client/server software systems.
- Familiarity with cloud, container, and virtualization technologies such as Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Hyper-V, or similar platforms used to support automated testing environments.
- Development and testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, MSTest, xUnit, and NUnit.
- Familiarity with secure development lifecycle (SDL) practices, SBOM generation, dependency scanning, vulnerability assessment, or security-focused testing activities.
For planning purposes, positions of this nature may fall within a salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 annually. Actual compensation for future opportunities may vary based on the scope of the role, location-based market conditions, internal equity, and the skills and experience a candidate brings. Compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, demonstrated performance, and overall alignment within the role category.
