SDET with Java

People Force is looking for a Java-SDET for a 6 month contract role with one of our client. This position is a hybrid position with onsite presence at our client’s Montreal office ,1 day per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and modern test automation practices to support a large-scale QA Transformation initiative.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering capabilities with hands-on experience designing and implementing automated testing solutions across end-to-end testing, integration testing, API testing, and microservices environments.

This is not a traditional manual QA role. We are looking for a software engineer focused on quality who can build automation frameworks, develop robust automated tests, troubleshoot complex integrations, and help drive the transition toward modern Quality Engineering practices.

Experience with Python, AWS, AWS Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes is considered an asset.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering, SDET, or test automation experience.

• Strong Java development expertise – the most important technical requirement.

• Strong experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.

• Strong experience with end-to-end test automation.

• Strong experience with integration testing across multiple systems and services.

• Experience testing Spring Boot applications and microservices.

• Strong experience with API and RESTful service testing.

• Strong understanding of software engineering and modern Quality Engineering practices.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Python development or test automation experience.

• AWS and AWS Lambda.

• Docker and Kubernetes.

• Cloud-native application testing.

• Performance and reliability testing.

• Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience participating in a QA-to-QE transformation.

Bilingual (French/English) required due to communication with teams across Canada

Nous recherchons un(e) Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) possédant une solide expertise en Java, Spring Boot et en pratiques modernes d’automatisation des tests afin de soutenir une initiative de transformation QA à grande échelle.

Le candidat idéal possède de solides compétences en développement logiciel ainsi qu’une expérience pratique dans la conception et la mise en œuvre de solutions de tests automatisés couvrant les tests de bout en bout, les tests d’intégration, les tests d’API et les environnements de microservices.

Il ne s’agit pas d’un rôle traditionnel de QA manuel. Nous recherchons un(e) ingénieur(e) logiciel axé(e) sur la qualité, capable de développer des frameworks d’automatisation, de créer des tests automatisés robustes, de résoudre des problèmes d’intégration complexes et de contribuer à la transition vers des pratiques modernes de Quality Engineering.

Une expérience avec Python, AWS, AWS Lambda, Docker et Kubernetes constitue un atout.

Qualifications requises

• 5+ ans d’expérience professionnelle en développement logiciel, SDET ou automatisation des tests.

• Solide expertise en développement Java – principale exigence technique.

• Solide expérience dans la création et la maintenance de frameworks de tests automatisés.

• Solide expérience en automatisation des tests de bout en bout.

• Solide expérience des tests d’intégration entre plusieurs systèmes et services.

• Expérience avec les applications Spring Boot et les microservices.

• Solide expérience des tests d’API et de services RESTful.

• Bonne compréhension de l’ingénierie logicielle et des pratiques modernes de Quality Engineering.

• Expérience dans l’intégration de tests automatisés aux pipelines CI/CD.

• Excellentes compétences en débogage, analyse et résolution de problèmes.
