Senior Java Low Latency Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Low Latency Developer to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario, working on high-performance enterprise applications . The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java, multithreading, concurrency, low-latency application development, and performance optimization. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven solutions using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, experience with enterprise application architecture, database optimization, and production support. The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions while following modern software engineering and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance, low-latency Java applications.
2. Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
3. Optimize application performance, response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
4. Implement multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing solutions.
5. Participate in solution architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
6. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to understand technical requirements.
7. Design and implement APIs, middleware integrations, and event-driven solutions.
8. Perform database design, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and production issues.
10. Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps-driven development.
11. Establish coding standards, engineering best practices, and quality guidelines.
12. Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance.
13. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

Key Requirements

1. Strong hands-on experience in Core Java and Advanced Java.
2. Proven experience in low-latency, high-performance application development.
3. Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, and asynchronous programming.
4. Expertise in Java performance optimization, JVM tuning, garbage collection, and memory management.
5. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Framework.
6. Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
7. Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies.
8. Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including query optimization.
9. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, build tools, and DevOps practices.
10. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
11. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
12. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership abilities.
13. Experience in banking, financial services, capital markets, or trading systems is preferred.
