Perseus M&A Team

Location: Remote open to candidates outside of the GTA/GTA candidates - Hybrid 1-2 times a week.

Perseus is focused on acquiring and growing software businesses. The Corporate Development team plays a key role in identifying, developing, and nurturing long-term relationships that can lead to successful acquisitions.

About the Role

Perseus is seeking a Manager, Corporate Development to help source current and future M&A opportunities within the software industry. This role is focused on building and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with software company decision makers, including CEOs, founders, owners, corporate development leaders, M&A advisors, and private equity or venture capital professionals.

Success in this role comes from creating meaningful relationships, developing a strong acquisition pipeline, and contributing to Perseus’ long-term growth through disciplined market research, thoughtful outreach, and high-quality M&A conversations.

What You’ll Do

Develop and manage an M&A pipeline through Salesforce CRM.
Create market maps and build strong relationships within assigned software industry verticals.
Meet and exceed monthly M&A sourcing targets, including meaningful contacts and other measurable KPIs.
Qualify acquisition opportunities efficiently, both independently and in partnership with M&A leadership.
Ensure lead database allocation is accurate across portfolio verticals.
Effectively qualify opportunities at the top of the acquisition funnel to help Portfolio Managers focus on the strongest opportunities.
Maintain consistent, value-added communication with prospects over a multi-year relationship-building cycle.

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or a client-facing M&A/finance-related role.
Experience in a software company or outbound-focused origination role is preferred.
Strong interest in building a long-term career in software investing and M&A relationship development.
Proven ability to succeed in an autonomous, high-performance environment.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and executive presence to engage with CEOs, founders, owners, M&A advisors, corporate development leaders, and investment professionals.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working variable hours when needed.
Extraordinary work ethic, strong sense of urgency, and ability to consistently move opportunities forward.

Salary Range (Ontario & BC Only):The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$75,000 - CAD$85,000 yearly + Bonus. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations.
