Senior Project Planner – Remote Mine Site, Northern British Columbia (Contract)

About the opportunity
Phase Consulting is looking for a Senior Project Planner for our client, a leading global mining company. The role is based at the company's operation in remote British Columbia. This is a long-term, site-based role where the planner will be the main scheduling and progress resource for a complex capital program.
What you'll do
- Build, maintain and own integrated project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
- Set up and run progress measurement: rules of credit, earned value, physical percent complete, and productivity tracking
- Review and challenge contractor schedules and progress claims on the Owner's behalf
- Run critical path analysis, schedule risk reviews and what-if scenarios to support decisions
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, look-aheads and dashboards for site and corporate leaders
- Work closely with project controls, cost, construction and operations teams to keep schedule and cost in line
- Keep the schedule accurate and disciplined as scope changes
What you bring
- 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience on large capital projects
- Mining and/or process plant experience strongly preferred
- Proven hands-on experience with progress measurement and earned value
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6 (other tools are a plus)
- Owner's-side experience is a strong asset, especially managing EPCM or contractor schedules
- Comfortable living and working at a very remote camp-based site for a long-term commitment
- Clear communicator who can present schedule insights to technical and executive audiences
