Original job description

At Phasor Engineering, we are a dynamic consulting engineering firm focused on delivering innovative solutions for the power, utility, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors. Our multidisciplinary team supports projects across North America, providing engineering, design, commissioning, and technical services that help shape and strengthen the communities we serve.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Drafter to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and technical professionals to develop high-quality drawings and design packages that support utility, substation, transmission, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

What you'll do:

As a Civil Engineering Drafter, you will play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into clear, accurate, and construction-ready drawings. Working closely with civil, structural, geotechnical, and electrical teams, you will contribute to projects from initial design through construction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting software
  • Develop site plans, grading plans, profiles, sections, foundation details, and construction drawings
  • Produce drawings for utility infrastructure, substations, access roads, drainage systems, foundations, and site developments
  • Incorporate engineering markups, survey information, field data, and design revisions into drawing packages
  • Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Support the preparation of Issued for Construction (IFC) and other project deliverables
  • Review drawings for compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and client expectations
  • Maintain drawing templates, standards, layers, blocks, and revision histories
  • Update existing drawings based on field conditions, engineering changes, and project requirements
  • Assist with quantity take-offs, schedules, and supporting documentation as required
  • Participate in quality reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

If you're passionate about producing high-quality technical drawings and want to contribute to challenging and rewarding engineering projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and, if available, a portfolio or examples of relevant drafting work.
