Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, including reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost projections. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes, supporting budgeting and bid preparation, and updating estimates as project details evolve. The estimator will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to clarify scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and help ensure projects are delivered within budget. The role also involves maintaining organized documentation, tracking historical cost data, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs for various trades and materials.
Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to support accurate project pricing and financial control.
Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
Candidates should possess proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications.
Relevant experience in construction, contracting, or a related field; experience in commercial or residential projects is an asset.
Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
Knowledge of local building codes, industry standards, and typical construction methods in Ontario is beneficial.
