Philson Ltd, a leading Heavy Civil Contractor located in the Fredericton Region is seeking the right candidate to join our team as a Project Coordinator.
General Description
Philson Ltd has been in business since 1994 and is active in local civil markets such as site development, road building, underground utilities, and water/wastewater treatment.
As a Project Coordinator you would primarily be responsible for working in conjunction with Field Supervisors and Project Managers on Heavy Civil construction projects that typically range from $500,000 to $30,000,000 in value. The intent is to find the right candidate to grow into further estimating and project management roles within the company. The candidate will have extensive opportunity to develop skills and knowledge by working with Senior Project Managers and Superintendents.

Summary of Tasks
- Prepare, monitor, and update job specific Project Management packages and Cost Tracking (Via AutoDesk FORMA and Trimble B2W Track respectively) for use by Superintendents and Site Foremen.
- Layout of various Heavy Civil construction projects.
- Creating As-Built drawings.
- Preparing Volumetric Take Offs.
- Interpreting project plans and specifications.
- Conducting topographical surveys and generating 3D volumes for quantification and/or payment.
- Measuring and quantifying installed underground services and horizontal surfaces for payment.
- Assist Project Manager in Project billing and Cost to Complete Analysis.
- Assist Superintendents and Ste Foremen with on-site QA/QC as required.
- Active participation in the Company Health & Safety Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Canadian Citizenship
- The Successful candidate would ideally have at least a CET, P.Tech designation/diploma, or EIT
- At least two years of experience in civil construction or engineering.
- Experience in construction survey and layout
- Proficiency with Topcon GPS equipment or equivalent would be considered an asset..
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain project management packages and cost tracking, perform construction layout, surveys, takeoffs, and as-built drawings, and measure installed work for payment. Support project managers with billing and cost analysis, assist site teams with quality control, and participate in the company health and safety program.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has at least two years of civil construction or engineering experience and experience with construction surveying and layout. A CET, P.Tech designation or diploma, or EIT is preferred; proficiency with Topcon GPS or equivalent and Microsoft Office, along with the ability to work independently, is also sought.
