Description

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will own and drive full-cycle recruitment for some of the most complex and niche roles in deep tech. You will help build the team behind scalable quantum computing, finding and winning over the physicists, engineers, and computer scientists who make it real. You’ll partner closely with executives, technical leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to build world-class teams in quantum hardware, software, algorithms, and supporting disciplines.

This role requires a technically fluent, highly consultative recruiting professional who can navigate ambiguity, influence strategically, and attract top talent in one of the world’s most competitive domains.

Please submit your resume and a cover letter in one file. In your cover letter, tell us about a hard-to-fill technical role you closed, how you approached it, and why you’d be a great fit at Photonic.

What We Need You To Do

Technical Talent Acquisition

Lead full-cycle hiring for high-specialization roles across a variety of business areas.
Develop sourcing strategies tailored to rare talent markets, leveraging industry networks, research communities, academic labs, conferences, and talent ecosystems.
Evaluate deeply technical candidates, effectively assessing for technical capability, competencies, and culture fit.
Build proactive pipelines of highly specialized talent, anticipating future growth areas in hardware, algorithms, architecture, and engineering.
Manage offers and closing for senior and international candidates, including competing offers and relocation.

Strategic Partnership & Workforce Planning

Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring managers and technical leads on talent availability, benchmarking, and compensation insights.
Collaborate with people leaders and the People team on headcount planning, role design, leveling, and organizational scaling.
Educate and influence hiring managers and leaders on hiring best practices, candidate experience, and interview rigor.
Support hiring managers in understanding and complying with Photonic’s People and Recruitment processes.

Process Excellence & Employer Brand

Build, document, and continuously improve our recruitment processes, and ensure they are followed for consistency, employer brand, and candidate experience.
Track and report on hiring metrics (such as time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, and offer acceptance) to spot bottlenecks and improve results.
Maintain a high bar for candidate experience, ensuring transparency, empathy, and speed across the pipeline.

What You Bring To Our Team

6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including at least 3 years recruiting for engineering and scientific roles across hardware and software. Experience in quantum, photonics, semiconductors, or another deep tech field is a strong asset.
A track record of sourcing and closing PhD-level and niche talent globally, with familiarity with cross-border hiring and relocation.
Experience partnering with senior leaders and technical leadership in a rapidly scaling environment.
Strong technical fluency and the ability to hold credible conversations with scientists and engineers.
Experience influencing hiring strategy, workforce planning, and interview design.
Exceptional communication, organization, and candidate-experience skills.
Experience driving and contributing to recruitment program and process development.
Hands-on experience with an applicant tracking system and using data to improve hiring.

WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US

Work closely with some of the brightest innovators in quantum technologies to drive breakthroughs that redefine computing.
Shape how we scale: you’ll have real influence over how our recruiting function grows.
Enjoy a fast-paced and fun environment where you can try new things while solving innovative challenges every day.
Inclusive company culture that values collaboration.
Regular social events and fun activities keep our global team connected.
Competitive compensation package including base salary, stock options, and relocation assistance for global talent.
Comprehensive benefits including extended health, dental, life, long term disability, an employee assistance program, parental leave top-ups, and a flexible spending account.

The description above is what we think an ideal candidate would look like for this role. At Photonic, we understand that everyone has a different work and life journey. If you feel your experience is close to what we've described, but you might not meet all the requirements, please still apply! We are also committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion. We embrace and encourage our employees’ differences, knowing that these very differences inspire innovation and build better teams. If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process, please let us know.
