We are expanding our Orthopedic Bracing & Compression division and are looking for a motivated Business Development Specialist who can actively develop new accounts while building long-term relationships with healthcare professionals.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for developing new business and increasing sales of our orthopedic bracing, compression products and related rehabilitation products within the assigned territory.
This is an active business-development position. The successful candidate should be comfortable prospecting, cold calling, visiting clinics, conducting product presentations and developing new customer relationships.
The role combines field sales, business development, account management and product education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centres, chiropractic clinics, sports medicine clinics, hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
- Prospect for new customers through telephone calls, targeted emails, clinic visits, referrals, networking and industry events.
- Conduct regular field visits throughout the assigned territory and meet directly with clinic owners, physiotherapists, chiropractors, purchasing managers and other healthcare decision-makers.
- Promote and sell the company's orthopedic bracing and compression product portfolio.
- Introduce customers to relevant rehabilitation products and other Medi-Line / Physio Supplies Canada product categories when appropriate.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, fitting support and educational sessions for clinics and healthcare professionals.
- Develop strong relationships with both new and existing customers and identify opportunities to increase account sales.
- Follow up consistently on leads, quotations, product demonstrations and potential opportunities.
- Assist new customers with account setup, product selection, ordering and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate customer, prospect and sales activity information in the company's CRM and reporting systems.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular updates on opportunities, customer activity and expected sales.
- Participate in company sales meetings, product training and internal educational programs.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, professional association events and other industry events as required.
- Represent Physio Supplies Canada professionally at customer meetings, conferences and educational events.
- Work with management, marketing and product specialists on campaigns, educational materials, webinars, product launches and other business-development initiatives.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory on a regular basis. Occasional travel outside Ontario or Canada may be required for conferences, supplier meetings or product training.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
This position is focused on measurable business development and territory growth.
The Business Development Specialist is expected to:
- Maintain consistent outbound prospecting and field-sales activity.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clinics and healthcare accounts.
- Consistently follow up with leads and opportunities.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers within the assigned territory.
- Meet established monthly and quarterly sales objectives.
- Bring a minimum of five (5) genuinely new clinic/customer accounts to the company each month through the employee's own prospecting, introductions and business-development efforts.
- Develop newly acquired accounts into active, recurring customers rather than simply opening inactive accounts.
- Maintain professional and timely CRM/activity reporting.
Performance will be evaluated based on overall sales results, new-account acquisition, territory development, customer relationships, sales activity and achievement of established KPIs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in B2B sales, business development or territory sales is preferred.
- Experience selling into physiotherapy, rehabilitation, chiropractic, medical or healthcare environments is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with orthopedic bracing, compression garments, rehabilitation products or medical equipment is an asset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with cold calling, prospecting and visiting clinics in person.
- Self-motivated and capable of independently managing a sales territory.
- Strong relationship-building and follow-up skills.
- Organized and comfortable maintaining CRM records, sales pipelines and activity reports.
- Ability to learn technical and clinical product information.
- Comfortable attending conferences and networking with healthcare professionals.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who does not simply wait for incoming leads.
The ideal candidate is comfortable getting into the territory, visiting clinics, introducing products, making calls, following up consistently and developing new relationships from the ground up.
This position is best suited to someone who enjoys business development, is comfortable being measured against clear sales objectives and wants the opportunity to build and grow a healthcare sales territory.
