Company Description

Pillar Digital is a Vancouver-based creative campaign and content studio specializing in visual storytelling, video production, and brand-driven content.

We bring strategy and storytelling together to create compelling visual experiences that connect brands with their audiences. From cinematic brand films and creative campaigns to social-first content and event storytelling, we help businesses communicate their identity, capture meaningful moments, and build lasting connections.

At Pillar, we believe great content starts with a strong idea and comes to life through thoughtful execution. We're a collaborative team of creatives, strategists, and storytellers who value originality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

Our philosophy is simple: Strategy meets storytelling.

Job Summary

We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Part-Time / Freelance Videographer & Video Editor to collaborate with our creative team at Pillar Digital.

In this role, you'll help bring creative concepts to life through high-quality cinematography and thoughtful editing. You'll work across a variety of projects, including brand films, creative campaigns, social-first videos, interviews, and event productions.

From planning shots and capturing compelling visuals to shaping stories in post-production, you'll play an important role in delivering content that reflects both our clients' brand identities and Pillar's creative standards.

We're looking for someone with a strong visual eye, a natural sense of storytelling, and a passion for their craft. You should be comfortable working independently on smaller productions while collaborating with our creative and strategy teams on larger projects.

Above all, we value someone who takes pride in their work, brings creative ideas to the table, and is motivated to continually elevate the quality of what we produce.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our creative and marketing team to brainstorm, plan, and execute video projects.
  • Capture compelling footage for a variety of content types - including short-form social media videos, brand stories, interviews, and event coverage.
  • Edit raw footage into polished, platform-ready content using DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
  • Incorporate graphics, text, and sound design to maximize impact and engagement across social media platforms.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and maintains a cohesive visual identity.
  • Stay current with video marketing trends, social media formats, and emerging tools to elevate content quality.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Videographer, Video Editor, or in a related role, with a strong portfolio showcasing social media or marketing content.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Lightroom is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Sony line cameras is a bonus.
  • Strong storytelling skills with an eye for detail, pacing, and composition.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, creative team.
  • Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback.
  • Passion for visual storytelling and creating content that resonates with audiences online.

Job Type: Part-time, Freelance

Compensation: $25.00–$33.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Application Requirement: Please provide your portfolio with your application.

Work Location: Hybrid, 1 onsite day per week. (Downtown Vancouver office & on-location shoots)
