Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in Peterborough Area. Reporting to the Team Leader, this replacement role offers an opportunity to apply your expertise and uphold our commitment to excellence.

Role Overview

This role is about more than inspections, it’s about shaping safer, healthier, and more sustainable spaces for people and communities. As a Project Technologist, you’ll contribute to critical health and safety initiatives by developing hygiene documentation, preparing technical reports, and working closely with clients to meet their goals.

You’ll join a team that blends deep experience with fresh perspectives, offering mentorship, collaboration, and technical expertise every step of the way. Your Role and Action

Complete assessments for hazardous materials, designated substances, mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), and industrial hygiene
Interview clients about building history and site-specific concerns, and inspect building systems and materials
Use monitoring equipment to record measurements and collect asbestos, lead, PCB, mould, bacteria, and PCM air samples
Assess damage from floods, water losses, smoke, and fire
Support clients after loss emergencies to dry, clean, remediate, and restore buildings to operation
Prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations for IAQ and hazardous materials concerns
Inspect mould, asbestos, and other hazardous materials abatement and restoration work to confirm proper completion
Liaise with clients and contractors, schedule field reviews, maintain relationships, and support business development
Maintain quality control and help ensure the safety of workers and building occupants at Pinchin project sites

What You'll Bring to Pinchin

You bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and accountability, paired with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for clients, communities, and the environment. Collaboration, continuous learning, and respectful teamwork are values you live by.

Diploma or degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Science, Applied Science, or a related field
Entry level to three years of practical hazardous materials experience, including asbestos, mould, lead, or PCBs
E.T. or a related designation is considered an asset
Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation and guidelines
Familiarity with building systems and experience reading architectural drawings
Experience using environmental monitoring equipment; nuclear facility experience is an asset
Strong communication, organization, technical report writing, and attention to detailed instructions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and availability to work outside core business hours and rotational weekends
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle for compensated regional travel; ability to meet client security clearance and drug and alcohol testing requirements
