Pay: CA$100.00–CA$152.75 per hour

Help little people and their grown-ups feel more supported

Pine Integrated Health Centre is looking for a child-focused psychologist or MSW to join our Edmonton team. We’re hoping to meet someone who enjoys working with children and families, brings warmth and curiosity into the room, and is comfortable getting down on the floor when the playroom calls for it.

Our children’s division, Pine Cone Health, offers integrated, whole-family care in a welcoming, collaborative setting. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychologists, pelvic health physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, registered massage therapists, acupuncturists and lactation consultants. We support children and families through many stages of development, with particular experience in the perinatal and early parenting years.

About the role

You’ll primarily work with elementary-aged children, ages 5–10, and their families. Experience with infants, toddlers or preteens is a welcome bonus.

We’re looking for availability for 2–3 evening and/or Saturday shifts per week. If you’d like to add daytime hours, there may be room to do that too. More shifts may be available upon request.

You’ll need

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), as applicable
  • A master’s degree in psychology, counselling or social work
  • Appropriate professional liability insurance
  • Demonstrated competency and specialized training in child-focused therapy, such as Play Therapy, Theraplay or Synergetic Play Therapy
  • Primary experience supporting children ages 5–10
  • A compassionate, reliable, client-centred approach
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

What it’s like to work at Pine

  • A quick pathway to building a full caseload
  • A warm team that values integrated, whole-person care
  • Supportive colleagues who care about your growth
  • Full administrative support and Jane App electronic records
  • A stylish, newly renovated clinic, including a dedicated playroom (and plenty of toys)
  • In-house learning and consultation with a multidisciplinary team
  • An ethical, fun, growth-oriented work environment
  • Flexible scheduling and on-site parking

Compensation

This is a private-practice contractor position, with remuneration based on a percentage split. Compensation is commensurate with experience, credentials and market rate. The posted pay range is CA$100.00–CA$152.75 per hour.

Interested?

Send your resume and cover letter to info@pinehealth.ca. Please include:

  • Your availability, including preferred days and hours
  • The age groups you’re most experienced with and open to working with
  • Your relevant training and therapy modalities, or your willingness to complete training immediately upon hire

Application questions

  1. Are you competent in working with children ages 5–10?
  1. Do you have specialized training in working with children, such as Play Therapy, Theraplay or Synergetic Play Therapy?
  1. Are you available to work 2–3 evening and/or Saturday shifts per week?

We’d love to meet someone who brings care, curiosity and a little playfulness to their work. If that sounds like you, we’d be happy to hear from you. 🌲
