Job Title: Senior Accountant
Direct Report: Director of Accounting & Tax
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Tax, the Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting and month-end close process across multiple entities in QuickBooks Online. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, completing reconciliations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in improving processes and building controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, curious, and eager to build core accounting skills in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment.
Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Month end operations
- Maintain the month-end close checklist/tracker and drive month-end process improvements.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, working with wider team to investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany and other month-end schedules.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Prepare reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts (e.g., payroll, loans, right of use assets).
- Assist in reviewing general ledger activity and identifying discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth communication and workflow.
General Accounting
- Maintain general ledger integrity and keep records up to date.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and completely in the appropriate entities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate and improve accounting team processes and controls environment (BI/IT, Treasury, AP).
- Contribute to the development and optimization of QuickBooks and LiveFlow processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with audit requests and documentation to support external audits.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other Accounting Software.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, month-end, or financial analysis role.
- Fully designated or a finalist/advanced-stage candidate for a recognized accounting designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA).
- Experience with end-to-end preparation of financial statements is preferred
- Experience in bank reconciliations and using QuickBooks is a plus.
- Familiarity with multicurrency transactions and working in multi-company groups.
- Official working language is English.
- A proactive hands-on approach to problem-solving and financial analysis.
