Senior Sap Finance Control Consultant

We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant with broad, hands-on expertise across Finance and Controlling for our client in Toronto area. The role will contribute to the design, configuration, enhancement and support of an enterprise SAP S/4HANA environment, working with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, operations and technology stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring strong end-to-end FI/CO capability, translate business requirements into scalable solutions, and support initiatives from solution design and testing through deployment and ongoing optimization.

Experience with manufacturing finance, Product Costing, SAP Project System and RE-FX / Lease Accounting will be particularly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Financial Accounting (FI)

• Lead the design, configuration, enhancement and support of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting and Bank Accounting in SAP S/4HANA.
• Support financial close, intercompany processing, tax configuration, statutory reporting and finance process improvements.
• Apply strong knowledge of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New Asset Accounting and Business Partner functionality.
• Ensure reliable integration between FI/CO and MM, SD, PP / PP-PI and QM, including account determination (OBYC), valuation and financial postings.
• Analyze complex business requirements, identify solution options and recommend sustainable SAP standard approaches.

Management Accounting & Controlling (CO)

• Configure and support Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Activity Types, Profit Center Accounting and allocations.
• Configure and support Margin Analysis (CO-PA) within the Universal Journal for profitability reporting.
• Support planning, forecasting, management reporting and month-end and year-end controlling close activities.
• Investigate and resolve FI/CO integration, settlement, allocation and reporting issues.
• Partner with Finance and operational stakeholders to improve controls, transparency and process efficiency.

Project Delivery & Solution Leadership

• Lead requirements workshops, fit-gap analysis and solution design, and prepare clear functional specifications.
• Partner with ABAP, Fiori, data and integration teams on enhancements and custom developments (RICEFW).
• Plan and execute unit, integration and user acceptance testing, and support cutover, migration and stabilization activities.
• Provide functional leadership, mentor junior team members and share knowledge with business users and support teams.
• Manage incidents, service requests and enhancements within agreed priorities and service commitments.

Project System & Lease Accounting (Desirable)

• Configure and support WBS elements, networks, project budgeting, results analysis and settlement.
• Support capital-project settlement to Assets Under Construction and integration with Investment Management, Asset Accounting and procurement.
• Configure and support RE-FX contract management and IFRS 16 / ASC 842 lease-accounting processes.

Product Costing & Manufacturing Controlling

• Support Product Cost Planning, Cost Object Controlling, Material Ledger and Actual Costing in SAP S/4HANA.
• Configure costing variants, costing sheets, overhead calculations, valuation variants and cost component structures.
• Support standard cost estimates, cost releases and mass costing, including CK11N and CK40N.
• Support production-order and process-order costing, WIP, variance analysis, settlement and period-end close, including CKMLCP.
• Apply manufacturing-costing knowledge to joint production, co-products, by-products, multi-currency and multi-valuation scenarios.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

PREFERRED / DESIRABLE

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related field.
• 10+ years of SAP FI/CO experience, including significant hands-on work in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Broad functional capability across core FI and CO processes, configuration, integration, close and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of ACDOCA, New Asset Accounting, Business Partner, Margin Analysis, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders and Profit Center Accounting.
• Solid integration knowledge across MM, SD and PP, with the ability to troubleshoot end-to-end financial postings and process issues.
• Experience leading requirements, solution design, functional specifications, testing, cutover and post-deployment support.
• Strong grounding in accounting, management reporting and financial controls.
• Excellent communication and the ability to translate business needs into scalable SAP solutions.
• Professional accounting designation such as CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent.
• Experience in process manufacturing or another asset-intensive industry.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Project System, Investment Management or capital-project accounting.
• Experience with SAP RE-FX / Lease Accounting and IFRS 16 / ASC 842 compliance.
• Strong Product Costing experience, including standard costing, WIP, variances, settlement, Material Ledger and Actual Costing.
• PP-PI experience in a process-manufacturing environment.
• SAP certification in S/4HANA Finance and/or Management Accounting.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud, Group Reporting, Central Finance, SAP Activate or Cloud ALM.

Pay: $100.00-$150.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (York District)
