Social Media Creator and Strategist

Pixyls | Toronto, ON (on-site) | Full-time | $60,000 to $70,000 a year

About Pixyls

Pixyls is a craft brand that makes premium sticker by number kits. Every design comes from a real, named artist. No AI. We sell to customers in Canada, the US and around the world through our own stores and through Indigo. Our customers are creative adults who want a hobby that ends in something worth putting on the wall.

The role

You'll own Pixyls organic social. You come up with the ideas, you're on camera, you plan the calendar, and you lead the people who help make it. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take a strategy and run it every week without being chased.

What you'll do

  • Create and star in short-form video for Instagram and TikTok: Comedy and relatable skits, lifestyle, storytelling, and finished-piece reveals. You film, edit and post.
  • Plan and run the content calendar. Hit a set weekly mix of formats, and plan around product launches, with launch content the week before and the week after each drop.
  • Turn our inspo library into clear briefs with a hook, a first frame, a script and an owner, so ideas actually get made and scheduled.
  • Lead and direct a small content team (an ASMR creator, a graphic designer and UGC creators). Give each person clear briefs, deadlines and feedback.
  • Create video formats and series' that go viral
  • You're constantly having and sharing new ideas, testing, iterating, learning and sharing what you learned
  • Work with our paid team to spot organic posts that should become ads, and get them ad-ready.
  • Track what works by format, hook and product, and use it to plan the next month.
  • Help shape our creator and community programs.

What you bring

  • At least 3 years in social media, including a past role as a Social Media Manager where you owned the strategy and the calendar
  • You're based in Toronto
  • You're a natural on camera and have a portfolio of short-form videos you created and appeared in
  • You've planned and managed other people's work: creators, freelancers, designers or a team
  • You work on your own. You see a gap in the calendar and fill it without waiting to be asked.
  • Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere or similar) and a good eye for light, framing and pacing
  • You know how to write a hook that stops the scroll, and how to tell a trend that fits the brand from one that doesn't
  • Organized. You keep a calendar full and on time (we use Notion).

Nice to have

  • You make things yourself: crafts, art, stickers, puzzles or any hands-on hobby
  • Experience with UGC creators or creator programs
  • A basic understanding of paid social and how organic content gets used as ads
  • Experience with a product brand during launches and Q4
  • Experience with performance analytics and reporting: reading the numbers, spotting what's working, and turning it into a clear monthly report

What we offer

  • $60,000 to $70,000 a year, depending on experience
  • Fast raises for standout work. If your content performs, your pay will too.
  • 2 weeks paid vacation
  • A small, creative team where your ideas go live fast
  • Real ownership of the brand's social channels
  • Our products to make, film and keep
