Placemaker Construction is the general contracting arm of Placemaker Group, a vertically integrated real estate company with 20+ years building across the Lower Mainland. We deliver residential, mixed-use, commercial, institutional, and community projects for clients across BC. We also work hand-in-hand with our sister company, Placemaker Communities, on select projects, carrying those projects from first concept through to occupancy, which adds to our team's range of experience across a wide variety of project types.

We're looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to lead a ground-up community project in Interior BC. This is an out-of-town role: you'll live on site in staff accommodation during the work week for the duration of the project, with accommodation and a food allowance provided. Beyond managing trades, schedule, safety, and quality, this role calls for strong leadership and relationship-building. You'll help build trust with the community, respect local priorities and protocols, and ensure the project is delivered to a high standard.

ABOUT YOU

You're an experienced Site Superintendent who takes ownership of a site, leads from the front, and keeps the project moving. You're organized, proactive, and solutions oriented. You anticipate issues, communicate clearly, and find a path forward. You build strong relationships: you listen, earn trust, and understand the people and communities you work alongside. You take pride in quality work, a safe and productive site, and holding yourself and your team accountable.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of Site Superintendent experience delivering wood-frame commercial and/or institutional projects
Proven experience leading subcontractors, trades, and site personnel, with a strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, building codes, and regulations
Excellent and respectful written and verbal communication skills
A valid Class 5 driver's licence
Willingness to live on site in staff accommodation in Interior BC during the work week, and weekends as needed, for the duration of the project
Experience with construction management and scheduling software such as Jonas Premier, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word is an asset

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Site Superintendent, you'll lead day-to-day site operations and take ownership of delivering the project safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project schedule and quality expectations. You will:

Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through completion, coordinating trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work; identify discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with the project team
Own the day-to-day schedule, including look-aheads, labour, materials, and equipment, and proactively address delays or conflicts that could impact progress
Conduct regular site and construction coordination meetings and provide clear direction to contractors and site personnel
Monitor workmanship and quality of construction and ensure work is completed in accordance with project documents, codes, and requirements
Coordinate municipal, provincial, consultant, and other inspections, and maintain accurate site reports and project documentation; monitor site progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and project team regarding schedule, labour, materials, quality, and potential issues
Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment with the CSO, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, the project safety plan, and site-specific protocols
Build and maintain respectful and collaborative working relationships with the client, community representatives, and project partners, with an understanding of local priorities and protocols
