Plainsman Builders is a longstanding, locally owned and operated, award-winning construction and development company based in Kamloops, BC.

We’re looking for a Junior Construction Coordinator to join our team. This is an opportunity to work directly with the company’s partners and experienced Construction Managers, gaining practical experience across all stages of construction.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and wants to develop their skills while contributing to some great projects.
The Role
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day coordination of our construction projects, working primarily from our Kamloops office with occasional visits to active construction sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
* Assisting with project scheduling, procurement, and material coordination.
* Preparing quantity takeoffs and assisting with estimating.
* Tracking project progress, deficiencies, and outstanding work.
* Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.
* Preparing meeting minutes, reports, and project correspondence.
* Assisting with safety documentation and site coordination.
* Supporting our Construction Managers with the daily challenges of keeping projects moving forward.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on different types of projects, learn new construction software and processes, and develop a strong understanding of how projects are managed from start to finish.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re open to recent graduates as well as candidates with some previous construction experience.
A diploma or degree in construction engineering, construction management, architectural or construction drafting, or relevant trade school education and training would be a good fit.
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:
* Is organized, dependable, and pays attention to detail.
* Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing things properly.
* Is eager to learn and willing to ask questions.
* Takes direction well but can also work independently and take initiative.
* Communicates clearly and works well with others.
* Is comfortable using computers and learning new software.
* Has a genuine interest in construction and wants to develop a career in the industry.
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, MS Project, Excel, or similar software would be an asset, but previous experience with these programs is not required. We’re happy to help the right person learn.
A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are strongly preferred for occasional site visits.
Candidates currently living in Kamloops or willing to relocate are welcome to apply.
