About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced Bilingual SOX Internal Controls Testers to support a major financial services client in Montreal.
This is an immediate opportunity for professionals with strong hands-on experience in SOX, ICFR, internal controls, and control testing. Successful candidates will be able to quickly contribute to ongoing engagements and work independently in a client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute SOX / ICFR control testing in accordance with established testing methodologies.
- Document control testing procedures, results, findings, and supporting evidence.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Identify control deficiencies, exceptions, and potential areas of risk.
- Work with stakeholders to obtain and evaluate appropriate audit evidence.
- Support the documentation and execution of control testing programs.
- Communicate testing results and observations clearly to client stakeholders.
- Work independently while collaborating with internal and client teams.
What You Bring
- 3–4+ years of relevant experience in SOX, ICFR, internal controls, or control testing.
- Strong practical knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Experience executing and documenting control testing programs.
- Strong understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment.
- Fluent French and English – French is the primary language requirement.
- Must be based in or able to work from Montreal and available onsite in Downtown Montreal 2 days per week.
- CPA designation is preferred, but candidates with strong SOX and ICFR experience will also be considered without a CPA.
