Original job description

2302 Rd 125, St. Marys, ON N4X 1C9, Canada

The Opportunity

If you’re a licensed 310T technician who wants more than routine oil changes and tire swaps, this shop will keep you genuinely busy. At All‑Equip, you’ll work on everything from standard heavy trucks and trailers to purpose‑built specialty equipment - and occasionally step into OEM trailer assembly or troubleshooting alongside our manufacturing team. It’s the kind of work that keeps your skills sharp, your days varied, and your trade knowledge growing. And you’ll do it in a shop that treats you like the skilled professional you are.

Work Arrangement: Full‑Time, Fully On‑site, Monday to Friday, day shift depending on production needs. This is hands‑on assembly work in a busy manufacturing environment.

Compensation

This is a hourly position paying $36-$48/hr depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including Extended Health Care, Dental, and RRSP contributions. Overtime is available for those who want it.

About Us

All-Equip/Platinum Trailers is a family-owned business. Founded in 2011, we’ve grown into a recognized leader in both trailer manufacturing and heavy equipment repair and service, and it’s that repair experience that gives us a real edge.

We’ve seen what fails in the field, what holds up under pressure, and what the competition consistently gets wrong. That knowledge is baked into everything we do.

The Role

As our 310T Technician, you’ll work across a genuinely diverse scope of equipment. Standard fleet maintenance is part of the job - but so is custom and specialty work on purpose‑built heavy equipment: crane trucks, tow trucks, tankers, dump trucks, and vehicles that don’t always come with a straightforward service manual. Beyond repair and service, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in OEM trailer assembly, giving you a rare look at how the equipment is designed and built from the ground up.

In a typical week, you’ll move between scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostic work on complex systems, and hands‑on repairs across a wide range of makes, models, and configurations. No two days are quite the same - which is exactly the point.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on heavy trucks, trailers, and tractors.
Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting - including on custom and specialty builds where standard procedures don’t always apply.
Service and repair custom and specialty heavy equipment - adapting your approach to each unique build and configuration.
Identify root causes accurately and efficiently, minimizing downtime for the fleet and customers.
Update and maintain work orders accurately - paper and computerized.
Communicate clearly with the shop team and service advisors on job status, parts needs, and findings.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - PPE and safety procedures are non‑negotiable.
Support and mentor apprentices - sharing knowledge, guiding technique, and helping them grow in the trade.
Support the broader shop with additional duties and maintenance as needed.

What We Offer

Full‑time, year‑round work, Monday to Friday (Days).
Bi‑weekly direct deposit.
Overtime available for those who want it.

Career Path

All‑Equip is a growing operation, and we promote from within wherever we can. We’re also a team‑first shop - experienced technicians here are expected to bring others up with them, not just keep their head down. Whether you want to deepen your diagnostic expertise, take on more complex equipment, or eventually step into a lead technician or shop supervisor role, we want to hear about your goals - and we’ll work with you to get there.

Qualifications & Experience

Valid 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) license.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
Experience with both mechanical and electrical/electronic systems
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation.
Able to communicate clearly with team members and document work accurately.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physically capable of working in a demanding shop environment.
Dedicated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills - able to prioritize and manage multiple jobs in a fast‑paced setting.
Commitment to safe work practices and proper PPE use.

Education & Certifications

Valid 310T license, Truck and Coach Technician trade.
Additional certifications (310S, air brake endorsement, etc.) are a strong asset.
