Original job description

As a Delivery Manager at Plative, you will own the delivery outcomes of a pod of NetSuite consultants and serve as a trusted advisor to your clients. You will report to the Director of NetSuite Delivery and are responsible for: (a) maintaining delivery excellence and customer satisfaction throughout client engagements; (b) coaching and developing a high-performing delivery team; and (c) supporting commercial success through strong project execution and presales partnership. Plative is a fast-paced, agile environment and the Delivery Manager will have a significant impact in transforming the technology landscape at our client and partner organizations.

Project Oversight & Delivery Leadership:

Track and manage project activity across timeline, scope, budget, risks, team capacity, and delivery quality across multiple concurrent engagements; proactively identify delivery trends and prevent issues before they escalate.
Build executive credibility with client stakeholders; understand their business goals and project priorities, and help them think strategically about implementation roadmap, adoption, value realization, and future opportunities.
Establish and maintain consistent project governance including status reporting, RAID logs, project plans, stakeholder alignment, and decision tracking; strengthen governance standards across your pod.
Partner with Solution Architects and consultants to ensure scope, requirements, and solution direction align; anticipate misalignment early and help shape solutions that are realistic, valuable, and commercially sound.
Serve as the escalation point for your team internally and for your clients externally; own escalations with urgency, structure, and professionalism, and de-escalate complex situations to restore confidence.
Monitor client sentiment proactively and address concerns before they escalate; use sentiment insights to improve delivery experience, retention, and expansion potential.
Handle difficult customer and internal conversations directly, respectfully, and with a solutions-oriented approach; keep Sales, Practice Leadership, and project teams aligned on risks and next steps.

Presales, Scoping & Commercial Judgment:

Triage opportunity support requests from Sales; assess delivery approach, project complexity, timeline, staffing, assumptions, and risks to serve as a credible delivery voice in sales cycles.
Lead scoping efforts by identifying workstreams, resource needs, milestones, dependencies, and risks; improve scoping quality by surfacing gaps early and challenging assumptions.
Partner with architects and consultants to connect solution design decisions to business outcomes, project feasibility, team capacity, budget, and customer expectations.
Understand project economics and make delivery recommendations with awareness of budget, margin, utilization, and customer value; balance customer needs, delivery quality, and Plative profitability.
Identify organic expansion opportunities within existing accounts and surface them to Sales and Practice Leadership.

Team Leadership & Development:

Hold regular weekly 1:1s with direct reports covering priorities, blockers, feedback, development, workload, and morale; use 1:1s as a meaningful coaching tool to build trust and improve performance.
Conduct recurring development conversations around goals, growth, skill gaps, and career interests; create clear development plans and help team members grow into larger roles.
Provide timely, balanced feedback that reinforces strengths and addresses improvement areas; coach with consistency and help team members build both technical and consulting judgment.
Check in actively on workload, engagement, burnout risk, and team sentiment; build a high-trust, high-accountability team culture where people feel supported and motivated.
Collaborate with the Central PMO function to assign team members to projects while balancing client needs, utilization, and individual development goals.
Set clear expectations around delivery quality, communication, utilization, customer presence, and ownership; connect individual expectations to business outcomes and career growth.
Identify performance concerns early; address them directly with documentation and support, and partner with the People team at the right time.
Provide specific, thoughtful input into talent planning, performance reviews, promotion readiness, and succession planning.

Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement:

Drive strong delivery standards across assigned projects; ensure consistency, quality, documentation, and methodology adoption across your full pod.
Identify systemic delivery gaps and lead practical improvements to tools, templates, workflows, governance, or delivery methodology.
Ensure accurate project tracking, time entry, forecasting, status updates, and documentation; create stronger operating rhythms and hold your team accountable to Plative process and procedures.
Contribute to retrospectives, lessons learned, templates, enablement, and team knowledge sharing; build reusable assets and best practices that make the broader team stronger.
Support workforce planning by identifying capacity needs, skill gaps, staffing risks, and upcoming project demand; participate in structured interviewing and candidate evaluation.
Identify opportunities to improve delivery through new tools, methods, automation, or AI-enabled practices; model AI-native behavior and help others build fluency.
Lead teams through change with clarity, empathy, and accountability; champion improvements and help the organization adopt better ways of working.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, IT, or MBA
4+ years working as a NetSuite consultant with hands-on implementation experience
3+ years of project management experience within a consulting environment
2+ years of direct people management experience
Strong understanding of core NetSuite business processes including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Core Financials, and CRM
Demonstrated experience with escalation management, stakeholder alignment, and executive-level communication

Desired Qualifications:

In-depth technical knowledge of the NetSuite platform
Accounting functional background (CPA or operational finance)
NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification
ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) Certification
Experience leveraging AI tools to improve delivery productivity and team efficiency
Familiarity with vertical-specific processes across SaaS, Manufacturing, Products, or Professional Services
