Who We Are
PLATO is Canada’s largest Indigenous-owned software testing and technology services company. For nearly 30 years, our expert teams have helped our clients deliver reliable products that users enjoy interacting with.
Our 100% Canada‑based team brings deep experience in QA, software testing, and IT services, along with a shared commitment to collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement. We’re a team that shows up for each other, whether that’s tackling complex client challenges or helping colleagues grow through coaching and knowledge‑sharing.
As Canada’s largest Indigenous‑owned software testing company, we’re proud of our roots and our mission to build a stronger, more inclusive technology workforce. At the same time, we warmly welcome applicants of all backgrounds and experiences who are passionate about quality, teamwork, and making an impact.
We are seeking a Content Designer to support a social services transformation initiative. This contract role will contribute to the delivery of high-quality content design and copywriting. The successful candidate will work closely with research, design, and delivery teams within an agile product environment.
This is a remote contract position from Sept 9 to December 31,2026 and is open to candidates who have a current valid Reliability level Government of Canada security clearance, or higher.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver content for digital product features as part of a cross-functional agile product team.
Support content design and copywriting efforts across employee- and/or client-facing services.
Ensure content aligns with correct business terminology and adheres to established organizational standards, guidelines, and accessibility requirements.
Collaborate with research and design teams to apply user-centered content design practices.
Follow and contribute to established content design standards and patterns.
Focus on content re-use and delivery accelerators to support on-time product delivery.
Coordinate content translation activities to ensure delivery in both official languages (English and French).
Participate in agile ceremonies and work iteratively to support product outcomes.
Qualifications
4-8 years of experience in content design, copywriting, or related transferable skills (such as communications, UX writing, or digital content development).
Ability to create clear, concise, and user-focused content.
Experience working within agile or multidisciplinary teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards and guidelines.
Experience in public service or comparable field
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
French language capability (written and verbal).
Experience working in government, public sector, or social services environments.
Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
Work With Us
At PLATO, we believe that great work happens when people feel supported, connected, and challenged in the right ways. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where experienced professionals share knowledge, mentor others, and contribute to solving complex, real‑world client projects.
We are committed to inclusive hiring practices and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and Indigenous peoples. If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, we’re here to support you.
PLATO respectfully acknowledges that we operate on treaty territories, unceded First Nations and Inuit territories, and within Métis homelands. We honour the long history of these lands and actively work toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non‑Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.
