Job Description

Senior Applied AI Engineer- Montreal Only

Plusgrade powers revenue engines for over 575 travel partners globally, and we need someone to architect and productionize our next-generation ML and LLM platforms to drive real-time, low-latency recommendation engines at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

You will design, deploy, and scale low-latency ML and LLM recommendation pipelines that feed real-time predictive data into core travel applications. You will own the entire lifecycle of production models, from solution architecture to automated retraining, drift monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines in AWS and Kubernetes. Our engineering workflows and delivery pipelines are built directly around cutting-edge AI infrastructure and automated observability systems to keep mission-critical products running smoothly. Working alongside Product, Operations, and Engineering teams, you will turn complex commercial challenges into high-throughput, production-ready AI solutions.

The Stack

Python

  • Java
  • SQL
  • PySpark
  • AWS (EKS, SageMaker, Bedrock, Agentcore, DynamoDB, Elasticache, Lambda, LoadBalancer, Glue, Kinesis, S3)
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • Snowflake
  • SnowPark
  • RedShift
  • GrowthBook
  • GitLab
  • CI/CD
  • Argo CD
  • Splunk
  • DataDog

What You Bring

  • You have a proven track record of productionizing, scaling, and monitoring machine learning models and LLM recommendation systems in low-latency, highly available environments.
  • You master general software engineering principles with Python and Java, building robust RESTful APIs, containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and native AWS infrastructure.
  • You own the entire ML lifecycle end-to-end, from data pipelines with SQL and PySpark to CI/CD, MLOps, model retraining, drift detection, and quality governance.
  • You've re-engineered software workflows around AI capability, building shared systems and MLOps standards that raise the engineering bar and help your teammates move faster without sacrificing reliability.
  • You are a self-driven problem solver and clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional settings, debugging complex issues independently and constantly digging into new tech.

Why Plusgrade

Travel is about the moments that make a journey feel personal. At Plusgrade, we build the technology that makes those moments possible, from upgrade offers and loyalty experiences to revenue tools used by 575+ airline, hospitality, cruise, rail, and financial services partners worldwide.

The work is global, complex, and rewarding. You will solve meaningful problems, take ownership from idea to outcome, and work alongside people who are smart, curious, and committed to doing great work.

We also give our teams access to AI tools and the encouragement to use them thoughtfully, to move faster, explore ideas, and build better ways of working.

We trust our teams to do their best work. That means autonomy, flexibility, and room to grow.

Come help us shape the future of travel.
