Join Pomerleau as a IT Support Intern and gain hands-on experience by contributing to day-to-day IT support activities for end users, under the supervision of the IT Coordinator and with guidance from experienced technicians. In this role, you will serve as a first-line resource for handling requests and incidents related to workstations, business software, and peripheral devices.
This internship offers recent graduates of an IT support program the opportunity to develop their technical skills, customer service approach, and understanding of a structured IT environment.
What you will do
- Provide first-level IT support and respond to user incidents and service requests.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and apply documented solutions during the first interaction whenever possible.
- When issues cannot be resolved immediately, accurately document the troubleshooting steps and actions taken, then escalate requests to the appropriate resource.
- Assist with the preparation and configuration of workstations as part of equipment deployments and replacements.
- Help maintain the accuracy and currency of the IT equipment inventory.
- Contribute to the creation, updating, and improvement of internal documentation and support procedures.
This role could be for you if you have
- DEP, DEC, or AEC in Information Technology, currently in progress or recently completed.
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments and workstation components.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices, local networks, and connectivity.
- Ability to follow a troubleshooting methodology, research information, and apply technical procedures.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, remote support tools, and software installation.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and information protection.
- Strong interest in IT support, hands-on learning, and user service.
- Active listening skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Curiosity, resourcefulness, and a willingness to seek solutions while recognizing when to ask for support.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
- Team-oriented mindset, punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple requests, and seek assistance when appropriate.
- Excellent French language skills and the ability to communicate in English in an IT support environment.
