Imagine the possibilities as your role focuses on growth opportunities in the project management field. The pace and path you choose to grow is your choice – but let us help you get there. As a key member of our team, we will rethink construction together, from idea to completion. Everywhere. All the time. Period.
The Project Coordinator – Mechanical will provide full-time coordination and construction support for the mechanical work front associated with the FST scope. The position will be responsible for driving mechanical activities from planning and readiness through field execution, with particular focus on milling/machining activities, connection welding, assembly and installation of gantries and machinery, and the displacement/relocation of heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and follow up milling and field machining activities, including work areas, equipment, subcontractor requirements, surveys, tolerances, inspections, and readiness.
- Coordinate connection welding activities, including joint preparation, fit-up, welding documentation, inspection requirements, access, sequencing, and interface with QA/QC.
- Coordinate the assembly, installation, alignment, and mechanical completion of gantries and equipment, ensuring drawings, materials, tools, procedures, and resources are available.
- Plan and coordinate the movement, positioning, and relocation of heavy equipment, including interfaces with lifting, rigging, temporary works, marine operations, and site logistics.
- Develop and maintain mechanical work packages, look-aheads, sequencing, and readiness plans.
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and specialized suppliers, particularly those supporting machining, welding, mechanical assembly, lifting, and equipment movement.
- Track engineering deliverables, drawings, RFIs, procedures, ITPs, material availability, equipment requirements, and outstanding technical issues.
- Coordinate interfaces between the mechanical scope and structural steel, temporary works, survey, marine operations, lifting/rigging, welding, and engineering.
- Ensure each activity is construction-ready before mobilization, including approved documentation, materials, equipment, access, manpower, inspections, and prerequisites.
- Monitor field progress and constraints and provide clear daily/weekly look-ahead and priority reporting to the Construction Manager.
- Identify and document scope changes, additional work, delays, productivity impacts, and subcontractor/client constraints affecting the mechanical work front.
- Act as the day-to-day focal point for mechanical execution, allowing the Construction Manager to maintain overall control of the FST scope and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- 3 years’ working experience in the construction industry.
- A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
- A proven track record of project coordination and team collaboration.
- A passion for providing exceptional client service.
- RRSP with up to 5% employer matching
