Under the leadership of the Vice President, Integrated Management Systems, the Director, SAP Solutions is responsible for the strategy, evolution, operations, and value realization of SAP S/4HANA and its broader technology ecosystem, which serves as the integrated platform supporting the delivery of Pomerleau’s major projects.

This role is accountable for SAP as a strategic business capability that enables the successful execution of Pomerleau’s major projects, ensuring both its current performance and its future evolution in alignment with the organization’s business needs.

As the leader of the SAP practice, the Director defines the platform roadmap, oversees the development of capabilities required for ongoing projects, and prepares the organization for the capabilities needed to support future major projects.

Working closely with internal teams that support major project delivery, as well as with relevant corporate functions, the Director ensures that the processes, data, and solutions supported by SAP effectively meet the company’s operational requirements.

The Director leads the functional and technical teams, as well as external partners responsible for the platform’s evolution, integration, operations, and support. The role is ultimately accountable for platform stability, performance, solution adoption, and the business value delivered to major projects and the organization as a whole.

What you will do

Major Project Success

Serve as the owner of the SAP platform used to support the delivery of major projects.
Be accountable for major project satisfaction regarding the capabilities provided by the platform.
Understand operational, financial, and project management challenges to help shape platform priorities.
Ensure projects have the solutions, data, and processes required for success.
Translate project needs into functional and technological capabilities.
Measure and continuously improve the value delivered through SAP.

Platform Strategy and Evolution

Define the long-term vision for SAP as an integrated platform supporting major project delivery.
Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap aligned with the needs of current and future projects.
Identify the capabilities required to support the next generation of major projects.
Anticipate evolving project delivery and management practices across the industry.
Define the investments and priorities required to advance the platform.
Balance immediate operational needs with long-term strategic capabilities.
Develop reusable solutions, operating models, and capabilities that can be leveraged across projects.

SAP Practice Leadership

Lead all SAP teams, including functional, technical, integration, and development resources.
Build the internal capabilities required to support major projects.
Oversee capacity planning and resource management for both internal teams and external partners.
Establish an operating model that effectively supports current and future projects.
Drive organizational expertise in SAP processes and solutions.
Foster a culture focused on service excellence, client partnership, and value creation.

Software Governance and Architecture

Provide functional and technological governance for the SAP platform.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and technology guidelines.
Guide decisions related to SAP development, integrations, extensions, and ecosystem capabilities.
Ensure seamless integration between SAP and other solutions used to deliver major projects.
Collaborate with architecture, data, integration, and cybersecurity teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
Ensure process and data consistency across the SAP ecosystem.

Partnership with Corporate Functions

Partner with corporate functions responsible for processes executed within SAP.
Ensure alignment between major project requirements and corporate priorities.
Contribute to the evolution of processes that support major project operations.
Facilitate prioritization and decision-making for cross-functional needs.
Promote a shared understanding of project objectives, constraints, and priorities.
Champion practices and processes that improve operational efficiency across major projects.

Delivery and Operational Performance

Be accountable for the availability, stability, and performance of the SAP platform.
Ensure platform enhancement initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and meet expected outcomes.
Oversee SAP-related transformation programs and projects.
Establish governance and performance-monitoring mechanisms at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies associated with the platform.
Ensure deployed solutions meet quality standards and are successfully adopted by users.

Vendor and Partner Management

Define the strategy for leveraging system integrators, consultants, and specialized partners.
Manage relationships with SAP and strategic partners.
Participate in contract negotiations and vendor management activities.
Maximize value obtained from external partners.
Ensure access to the expertise required to support operations and transformation initiatives.
Define a sustainable strategy that balances internal capabilities with external expertise.

This role could be for you if you have

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience managing complex enterprise solutions.
Significant experience with SAP S/4HANA.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of functional, technical, and external partner resources.
Experience managing large-scale transformation programs.
Experience in project-driven environments such as infrastructure, construction, energy, or heavy industry is considered a strong asset.
Experience managing strategic vendors and service contracts.
Experience in enterprise platform governance and portfolio management.
