Original job description

Marketing | Toronto or Waterloo, hybrid | Reports to the CEO

Pontosense builds radar sensing technology that helps older adults live safer, longer and better in their own homes, without cameras or wearables. Our technology is deployed in 24 countries, we are launched with leading home care brands, and major carriers in North America are coming next.

We are doing remarkable things. Not enough people know it yet.

Why now

Every month our team ships something worth showing: a new sensing capability, a partner launch, a demo that makes people lean in, an AI breakthrough, a milestone. Most of it never leaves the building. We need someone who understands the technology well enough to explain it, and has the craft to make the world care.

The Role

Your mandate is the Pontosense story: the deep tech, the progress, the people and what comes next. You'll turn what our engineers, product and partner teams are building into demo videos, LinkedIn posts, articles and social content that build the company's reputation with partners, investors, talent and industry. This is the company brand, not Silvie. You'll work directly with the CEO and the technical teams, and you'll decide what we say, where and when. This is a strategic role as much as a creative one.

What You'll Do

  • Show the technology: plan, shoot and edit demo videos that make radar sensing, AI and our products easy to understand and exciting to watch.
  • Tell the progress: turn launches, partnerships, pilots, patents and milestones into LinkedIn posts, articles and announcements.
  • Explain the deep tech: write clear, credible pieces on how our technology works and why it matters, for partners, investors and industry.
  • Share what comes next: build a forward-looking narrative on where Pontosense and the technology are heading.
  • Show the culture: capture the team, the work and the moments that make people want to work here.
  • Own the channels: run the Pontosense LinkedIn, website news, YouTube and social, with a clear calendar and a consistent voice.
  • Support leadership: help the CEO and leadership team with thought leadership posts, talks, conference content and press.
  • Measure what works: track reach, engagement, inbound interest and talent pull, and double down on what moves them.

What Makes This Hard

  • Technical and clear: the story has to be accurate enough for an engineer and simple enough for everyone else.
  • Strategic, not just busy: every piece should build the company's reputation, not just fill a calendar.
  • Many audiences: partners, carriers, investors, future hires and industry, each with different questions.
  • Calm and credible: our voice is confident and privacy-first, never hype.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days

  • A content plan for the next two quarters, agreed with leadership.
  • The first demo videos and technical articles are live.
  • The Pontosense LinkedIn is posting consistently, and engagement is rising.

6 to 12 months

  • A library of demos, articles and stories the whole company uses in sales, partnerships and recruiting.
  • Partners, investors and candidates mention our content before we bring it up.
  • Pontosense is known in the industry for what it is building and where it is going.

The test: people reach out to us because of something they saw.

This is for you if

  • You have roughly 3 to 6 years in content, communications or marketing at a technology, deep tech or hardware company.
  • You get technical ideas quickly, and you love making them simple.
  • You can plan, shoot and edit compelling video, and you write well for LinkedIn and long form.
  • You think strategically about audience, message and timing, not just output.
  • You use AI tools every day to create, edit and move faster.
  • You are curious, self-directed and happy working side by side with engineers.
  • Bonus: an engineering or science background; health tech, IoT or AI; experience growing a company LinkedIn presence.

This isn't for you if

  • You want to run a social calendar without understanding the product.
  • You would rather brief an agency than make the work yourself.
  • You are not comfortable asking engineers hard questions.

Where This Goes

The person who builds this well becomes the owner of the Pontosense brand and communications, and grows into leading that function as we scale.

How We Work

Build it right, then make it better.

Real impact. There is more room to make a difference here than at a company ten times our size.

Why Join

  • Tell the story of technology that helps older adults live safely and independently at home.
  • Work side by side with engineers on radar sensing, AI and connected devices.
  • Direct access to the CEO and leadership team. No layers.
  • Opportunity for equity.
  • A sensor for your parents, on us.
  • Rest well, it's part of the job.
  • Health, dental and vision benefits. Hybrid in Toronto or Waterloo.

How To Apply

Share two or three pieces you made, ideally a video and a written piece about a technical product, and a few lines on this: you have 60 seconds of video to show what Pontosense does. What do you film?

Our Commitment

At Pontosense, we are committed to creating a workplace that is inclusive and accessible to all. We value diversity and believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed.

If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation during the hiring process, please let us know. We will work with you to make the necessary accommodations to ensure a fair and positive experience for all applicants.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply for open positions at our company.
