Location DescriptionPost Consumer Brands in Niagara Falls, Ontario is home to the Original Shredded Wheat cereal, first produced at this plant 117 years ago. Today, more than 150 team members work at the plant and support the local food bank and other community organizations. The Niagara Falls plant is just down the road from the iconic and expansive waterfalls of the same name. Check out this majestic natural wonder and the various activities nearby. ResponsibilitiesAre you ready to champion growth and learning at our Niagara Falls manufacturing site? As our Learning & Development (L&D) Business Partner, you will lead site-level learning strategies that build employee skills, strengthen leadership capability, and support business performance.
You will partner with leaders, employees, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement, Operations, and central L&D to create practical learning experiences for a multi-shift workforce. From onboarding and leadership development to learning technology and training analytics, your work will help employees build the skills they need to succeed today and grow for what comes next.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion learning and development at the site, partnering with leaders to prioritize employee development, secure resources, and strengthen a culture of continuous learning.
- Build relationships across shifts and support effective communication and training delivery for employees working varied schedules.
- Design and coordinate leadership development programs that build problem-solving and continuous improvement capability, including Go See Think Do, 8-Step Problem Solving, and 5S.
- Partner with central L&D and Human Resources to identify learning needs, strengthen onboarding, and create engaging content that supports retention.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement and Operations to align training priorities with operational performance needs.
- Implement train-the-trainer approaches and equip trainers to deliver effective instruction, coaching, and on-the-job learning.
- Build and manage the annual training calendar, coordinate logistics, and lead program rollouts across the site.
- Administer SumTotal and the Redzone Learning Module; maintain training records, track metrics, provide leadership reporting, and support audits.
- Update learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate and use training data to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvements.
- Lead cross-functional teams and steering committees that close skill gaps, advance Standard Work, and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the Post learning and development community of practice and stay current on emerging L&D approaches.

Location & Travel Requirements
- This role is based at our manufacturing site in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
- Regular support for off-shift training is required, including some evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Occasional travel of up to 10%-15% is required.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in learning and development, training, education, or a related role.
- Demonstrated facilitation skills and knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Experience in performance consulting and learning content development.
- Proficiency with learning management system administration and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to support training across multiple shifts, including some evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing or unionized environments
- Experience with Redzone manufacturing software, e-learning tools and on-the-plant floor training, coaching, and performance consulting
- Prior people management experience is preferred to support the anticipated growth and future leadership scope of this position
- Ability to program manage multiple projects concurrently
- Experience in change management models
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Go See Think Do, 5S, 8-Step Problem Solving)
