The world’s consulting and private equity powerhouses turn survey questions into strategic revelations with Potloc. Our all-in survey platform is designed to be the fastest, most reliable asset for understanding market shifts.

With unrivaled sample quality, AI-powered analysis, and end-to-end research oversight, it all adds up to a competitive advantage.

Our team is dedicated to being the best end-to-end service provider for our clients globally.

To do this, we have offices in North America and Europe!

We encourage professional development and provide support to our teams through our 4 core values: Excellence, teamwork, honesty & adaptability.

THE MISSION

You will develop new features in a team of experienced developers. You will help us scale our platform to bring near real-time performance insights to our external clients. Internal users will rely on your work to create and optimize multi-channel campaigns, monitor targeted quotas, and ultimately deliver a high-quality representative respondent sample. You will report to the Director, Product Engineering.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

We have many ongoing projects and initiatives. We will work with you to find the best match between your skills and our priorities.

You can expect to:

Collaborate directly with colleagues to solve business problems through technical implementations on the platform
Contribute to our GraphQL API, service architecture, queuing system, database systems, and other core infrastructure services
Know when to move fast and iterate, and when to align the team around a written proposal first
Contribute to our internal design system to ensure modern frontend practices are respected
Champion AI-assisted engineering practices; using LLM tools effectively in your own work and helping the team raise its baseline
Mentor and act as a subject matter expert within the team

REQUIRED SKILLS

Bring your Ruby experience - or experience with another backend framework (Python/Django, PHP/Laravel, Elixir/Phoenix) with strong fundamentals and a fast learning curve - we're on Ruby 3.4 and Rails 8.1!
Proven experience deploying and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications in production environments
Familiarity with open source API gems
Strong system design fundamentals; able to reason about API design, database modeling, and cross-system trade-offs
Curious, transparent, and detail-oriented: you enjoy learning, listening, and sharing what you know
You naturally share knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the team
Comfortable using AI coding tools daily and opinionated about how to use them well
Experience with DevOps or design systems is a plus
