Position Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Manager, Information Technology to take ownership of the organization’s technology environment while also serving as a key client-facing technology partner within the pharmaceutical industry.
This role is ideal for an IT professional who combines strong technical knowledge with business development, relationship management, and client-facing communication skills. You will work closely with internal leadership, clients, partners, and external technology providers to understand business needs, present technology solutions, and ensure successful delivery.
The ideal candidate is someone who can roll up their sleeves technically, while also being comfortable representing the organization with pharmaceutical clients, understanding their technology requirements, and building trusted long-term relationships.
What will you be doing?
- Own the organization’s day-to-day IT environment, ensuring systems, applications, infrastructure, devices, and networks are reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Act as a client-facing IT partner, working directly with pharmaceutical clients to understand technology requirements, identify opportunities, and support solution delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical clients, partners, vendors, and technology providers.
- Participate in client meetings, discovery discussions, solution presentations, and ongoing account conversations.
- Translate client business and technology requirements into practical IT solutions and actionable recommendations.
- Manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage and support Salesforce and other critical business systems, including configurations, integrations, permissions, data quality, and production issues.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, cloud environments, applications, networking, and access.
- Identify opportunities to improve client and internal business processes through technology, automation, system enhancements, and improved workflows.
- Support integrations between Salesforce, internal applications, third-party platforms, clients, and partners.
- Implement and maintain practical cybersecurity practices, including MFA, endpoint security, access controls, patching, backups, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Support security, privacy, compliance, and SOC 2 initiatives.
- Manage relationships with MSPs, IT vendors, consultants, Salesforce partners, and technology providers.
- Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations based on client and business requirements.
- Partner with leadership to develop technology roadmaps and prioritize investments.
- Help grow and strengthen the organization’s technology services and client relationships within the pharmaceutical sector.
Must haves:
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience in a hands-on IT management or senior IT role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Experience managing Salesforce or other enterprise business systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, applications, endpoints, cloud environments, and business systems.
- Practical experience with cybersecurity, endpoint security, MFA, access management, backups, patching, and risk management.
- Working knowledge of APIs, integrations, data flows, reporting, and business intelligence.
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills, ideally within pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or a regulated industry.
- Ability to understand client needs, lead discovery conversations, present solutions, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercially minded and sales-oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities, build client relationships, and contribute to account growth.
- Experience managing IT vendors, MSPs, consultants, and technology partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a high degree of ownership and independence.
