About Lincourt Manor

Lincourt Manor Inc. is a 60-bed licensed nursing home serving seniors and adults with disabilities in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, conveniently located on Chipman Street next to Charlotte County Hospital. With planning underway for a new nursing home, this is an exciting time to join Lincourt Manor and contribute to the future of long-term care in the St. Stephen community. We are seeking an experienced nursing leader who excels in interpersonal relations and can successfully bridge a management role in a unionized environment.

The Opportunity

The Director of Nursing is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and participating in the Home's care services and for ensuring the delivery and management of high-quality nursing care to all residents in alignment with Lincourt Manor Inc.'s vision and mission. As a key member of the interdisciplinary management team, the Director of Nursing provides consistent, transparent leadership while building respectful and fair relationships between management and frontline staff.

The role requires knowledgeable stewardship within two collective agreements and compliance with applicable legislation, the Management Directives Manual, The Nurses Act (N.B.), Nursing Home Standards, and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The Director promotes collaborative decision-making, resident safety, staff development, and continuous improvement across the Home.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the delivery of safe, resident-centred nursing and care services.

· Lead, support, and supervise nursing and care staff, including performance management, coaching, staff development, and competency support.

· Provide respectful, timely, and transparent clinical communication with residents, families, and Powers of Attorney (POAs), ensuring changes in health status, care needs, treatment recommendations, risks and outcomes are communicated clearly and appropriately.

· Respond to resident, family and POA concerns within the scope of the DON’s authority, ensuring appropriate documentation, follow-up and timely escalation of unresolved, recurring or significant concerns to management.

· Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to maintain appropriate care coverage and operational continuity.

· Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, Nursing Home Standards, professional standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

· Lead and support quality improvement, risk management, infection prevention and control, incident review, and corrective action processes.

· Oversee clinical documentation, care practices, policies, procedures, and related nursing standards.

· Work effectively within two collective agreements and support fair, consistent labour and employee relations practices.

· Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, pharmacy, allied health professionals, government partners, and other service providers.

· Participate as a key member of the management team and contribute to organizational planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

· Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or an equivalent combination of nursing education and relevant experience. Additional education or training in administration and/or health care management is considered an asset.

· Minimum of three years of relevant supervisory experience.

· Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB).

· Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with a high level of emotional intelligence.

· Demonstrated ability to lead collaboratively and make fair, consistent, and well-informed decisions.

· Experience in long-term care, gerontology, and/or a unionized health care environment is considered an asset.

· Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulatory requirements, standards, and organizational policies within a health care environment.

Conditions of Employment

· Satisfactory criminal record check clearance.

· Satisfactory Social Development check.

· Maintain current registration and good standing with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) throughout employment.
