Original job description

At Praecipio, we don't just implement tools; we reshape how businesses see, understand, and achieve their most critical objectives. You are more than a consultant - you are a strategic partner who empowers our clients to connect their vision directly to value. You'll work alongside a "brilliant, together" team, tackling our clients' most complex challenges and delivering the "aha!" moments that redefine their potential for success.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Atlassian Consultants to partner with our dynamic professional services team. The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad expertise in the Atlassian ecosystem, with a proven track record of leading complex enterprise-level projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Atlassian migrations, tooling, and integrations. As a client-facing consultant, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Atlassian solutions that align with our clients' strategic business goals. You must possess exceptional technical acumen combined with outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

Consultant Expectations

Consultative Solutioning: Lead discovery sessions with client stakeholders to understand business requirements, pain points, and processes. Translate these needs into scalable, robust, and best-practice solutions within the Atlassian suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
Enterprise Migrations: Architect, plan, and execute complex Atlassian migrations. This includes server-to-cloud, data center-to-cloud, and tool consolidation projects. Manage all phases of the migration lifecycle, from pre-migration assessment and planning to execution, data validation, and post-migration support.
Tooling & Integration: Design and implement sophisticated integrations between Atlassian products and third-party tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, CRM, ITSM platforms, reporting solutions). Leverage REST APIs, webhooks, and marketplace apps to create seamless, automated workflows across the enterprise toolchain.
Implementation & Configuration: Perform hands-on configuration of Atlassian applications, including project schemes, complex workflows, custom fields, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notifications. Develop and deploy solutions that support Agile (Scrum, Kanban), ITSM/ITIL, DevOps, and other business methodologies.
Health Checks & Optimization: Conduct comprehensive assessments of client Atlassian environments to identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance stability, usability, and governance.
Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong relationships and providing expert guidance. Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage project scope, expectations, and timelines effectively.
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to Praecipio's internal knowledge base and mentor junior team members. Stay current with the latest Atlassian product updates, features, and industry best practices.

What We Look For

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Atlassian Engineer or Architect in a large-scale, enterprise environment.
Demonstrated, in-depth experience planning and executing complex migrations (Server to Cloud, DC to Cloud, instance consolidations) for Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Extensive experience with tooling and advanced configuration of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, including a deep understanding of schemes, workflows, and permissions.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing integrations using marketplace apps (e.g., ScriptRunner, eazyBI, Structure, Xray) and custom solutions via REST APIs.
Strong understanding of IT and business frameworks such as Agile (SAFe, Scrum), DevOps, and ITSM/ITIL.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) to automate tasks and extend Atlassian tool functionality.

Certifications (Highly Desired):

Atlassian Certified in Jira Project Administration (ACP-JPA)
Atlassian Certified in Jira Administration for Cloud (ACP-JCA) or Data Center (ACP-JAD)
Atlassian Certified in Agile Development with Jira Software (ACP-JSW)
Atlassian Certified in Jira Service Management (ACP-JSM)
Atlassian Certified System Administrator (ACP-ASA)
Other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, SAFe Agilist) are a plus.

The Impact You Will Make

Joining Praecipio means you will be the catalyst for profound and lasting change for our clients. You will directly enable them to:

Achieve Unprecedented Clarity: You will replace ambiguity and data chaos with a single source of truth. By leveraging advanced analytics and integrated systems, you'll provide executive leaders with real-time, transparent views into their entire value stream, from strategic investment to customer delivery.
Drive Data-Driven Decision-Making: You will empower clients to move from guesswork to confident, strategic choices. Your work will provide the critical insights they need to pivot faster, optimize resource allocation, and ensure their investments are generating measurable returns.
Connect Strategy to Execution: You will help clients ensure that every task, project, and program is perfectly aligned with their overarching business goals, eliminating wasted effort and maximizing impact.
Unlock True Business Agility: You won't just be helping teams run faster sprints; you will be instilling a culture of enterprise-wide agility. This allows our clients to adapt to market changes, outperform competitors, and consistently deliver value to their customers.

If this interests you, share your resume and expertise, we’ll be in touch.
