ABOUT PRAKTIKAI

PRAKTIKAI is a data and AI consulting company that helps organizations turn data, analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence into practical business results. We work with manufacturers, supply chain and trade organizations, startups, public-sector partners, and other businesses on strategy, training, analytics, workflow improvement, and technology solutions.

Our approach is direct and business-first: understand the problem, identify where value can be created, and put the right solution into practice without unnecessary hype or complexity.

PRAKTIKAI has established an Orillia presence through office with our partners at Peacock Tariff Consulting. We are expanding our relationships with regional manufacturers, trade-focused businesses, startups, economic development organizations, and community partners across Orillia and Simcoe County.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an early-career Analyst, Client Engagement & Partnerships to be PRAKTIKAI’s local point of support in Orillia. This is a hands-on role combining business development, partnership coordination, community engagement, research, and day-to-day follow-through. The successful candidate will help PRAKTIKAI build relationships, identify opportunities, coordinate local activity, and support sales and client development across the region.

This role is well suited to someone who communicates clearly, is comfortable meeting new people, stays organized, and wants practical experience in consulting and technology with a focus on manufacturing and trade. It is not a high-pressure cold-calling position. The emphasis is on in-person connection, thoughtful outreach, strong follow-up, useful research, and long-term relationship building.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners in manufacturers, trade, and tech startups
  • Support coordination and joint activity with Peacock Tariff Consulting and other regional partners.
  • Research prospective clients, partners, events, and opportunities in Orillia and the surrounding region.
  • Prepare prospect lists, contact research, meeting briefs, follow-up notes, and other materials
  • Draft and coordinate personalized outreach, meetings, follow-ups, and partner communications.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, conversations, opportunities, next steps, and partnership activity in PRAKTIKAI’s CRM and shared systems (we used Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and Office 365)
  • Help organize local meetings, workshops, roundtables, training sessions, and industry events.
  • Attend local meetings and events as a representative of PRAKTIKAI.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional in business, marketing, communications, tech sales, or a related field.
  • Comfort meeting business owners, executives, community partners, and other professionals in person.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and attentive to detail, with consistent follow-through on commitments.
  • Comfort working independently in a small, fast-moving consulting firm where priorities may evolve.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to work regularly from Orillia and attend meetings and events across the local region.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and/or reliable access to transportation.

USEFUL, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Co-op, internship, campus leadership, volunteer, customer service, sales, or event experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems, contact databases, email outreach, LinkedIn, or event platforms.
  • Desire to learn or hands-on experience with AI and agentic workflows (O365 Agents, Github Copilot, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Orillia and Simcoe County or the region’s manufacturing and economic development
  • Interest in data, analytics, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, and international trade.
  • Experience preparing presentations, proposals, event materials, and other business communications.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

  • Direct exposure to how a growing consulting firm develops clients, partnerships, and regional markets.
  • Practical experience working with manufacturers, trade specialists, and startups and technology.
  • Mentorship and collaboration with PRAKTIKAI leadership and experienced consulting professionals.
  • Hands-on experience with modern business development, CRM, research, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Opportunities to build a strong professional network across Orillia, Simcoe County and surrounding area.
  • A role with room to grow as PRAKTIKAI’s business and regional presence expand.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

This is a hybrid role anchored in Orillia. The successful candidate will work regularly from PRAKTIKAI’s shared Orillia office, attend local meetings and events, and complete some work remotely. Occasional travel to Toronto or elsewhere in Ontario may be required for team meetings, client work, or industry events.

HOW TO APPLY

Please send your resume and a short note in the body of your application explaining your interest in the role, your connection to the Orillia area, and your availability to work at praktikai dot com. A formal cover letter is not required.
