Role: .NET Core Developer – Trading Technology

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced .NET Core Developer to join our Trading Technology team and help develop high-performance risk and pricing applications. The role involves building scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems supporting STP, Delta One, equities, and derivatives trading workflows.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C#, .NET Core, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, messaging platforms, microservices, and Linux/Kubernetes-based deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance applications using C# and .NET Core.
Build and enhance risk, pricing, and trading applications supporting STP and Delta One workflows.
Develop solutions for equities and derivatives trading and processing environments.
Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed systems.
Build fault-tolerant, highly available, and low-latency applications for mission-critical trading platforms.
Develop event-driven systems using messaging technologies such as:
Kafka
Solace
IBM MQ
Implement asynchronous processing, event consumption, message publishing, retry mechanisms, and error handling.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and support migration or adoption of GitHub Actions.
Deploy and manage applications on Linux and Kubernetes platforms.
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, quantitative teams, traders, risk specialists, and other engineering teams.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support.
Ensure high standards of code quality, security, observability, scalability, and operational reliability.
Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis in a distributed trading environment.

Required Technical Skills

Programming and Application Development

Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
Experience developing scalable backend services and APIs.
Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean-code practices.
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance profiling.

Trading Domain Knowledge

Experience working with risk and pricing applications.
Understanding of STP - Straight-Through Processing workflows.
Knowledge of Delta One products or trading systems.
Exposure to equities and derivatives.
Understanding of trading lifecycle, order processing, market data, trade capture, risk calculations, or pricing workflows is preferred.

Distributed and Event-Driven Systems

Strong understanding of distributed systems and fault-tolerant architectures.
Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous communication.
Experience with one or more messaging platforms:
Kafka
Solace
IBM MQ
Understanding of message delivery, ordering, replay, idempotency, retries, dead-letter queues, and failure recovery.

Performance and Concurrency

Strong knowledge of multithreading and concurrency in .NET.
Understanding of I/O-bound and CPU-bound workloads.
Experience with asynchronous programming, parallel processing, task-based programming, synchronization, and thread-safety.
Ability to identify and address performance bottlenecks in high-throughput applications.

DevOps, Deployment, and Cloud-Native Platforms

Hands-on experience with Linux environments.
Knowledge of application deployment and troubleshooting on Kubernetes platforms.
Experience creating and maintaining build and deployment pipelines in Jenkins.
Exposure to implementing or migrating pipelines to GitHub Actions.
Familiarity with containerization, deployment automation, logging, monitoring, and operational support.

Preferred Skills

Experience in investment banking, capital markets, trading technology, or financial services.
Knowledge of pricing engines, risk calculations, market data, trade processing, or order management systems.
Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, or other service-to-service communication protocols.
Familiarity with observability tools, distributed tracing, metrics, and centralized logging.
Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes operators, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
Knowledge of database technologies and performance tuning.
Understanding of low-latency and high-throughput system design.
Exposure to open-source platforms used for CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Typically 5+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in C# and .NET Core.
Experience building production-grade distributed, event-driven, or microservices-based systems.
Experience in trading, risk, pricing, equities, or derivatives technology is highly desirable.
