About this role:
We are looking for a results-driven Parts Manager to lead our parts department and grow its profitability. This is a fast-paced, people-focused leadership role: you will motivate and develop your team, build strong relationships with internal and wholesale customers, and keep inventory, pricing and service running at a high standard. If you enjoy variety, thrive on change and like turning goals into results through other people, we want to hear from you.
Parts Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead, schedule and develop the parts team, including approving payroll hours, monitoring productivity and providing hands-on and technical training.
- Own department performance: build the annual budget, set goals for inventory, pricing, ROI and margin, and review sales, expenses and inventory daily, weekly and monthly.
- Manage inventory for maximum turnover and minimal obsolescence, balancing the needs of all customers, and ensure parts are tagged to recover factory credit.
- Set pricing and grow wholesale and retail business through promotions, manufacturer co-op advertising and lasting customer relationships.
- Partner with service managers for fast turnaround on internal jobs.
- Direct shipping, receiving and the wholesale parts delivery program.
- Oversee financial controls, including accounts receivable and payable, GL schedules, audit exceptions and accurate documentation.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and keep the department safe, clean and compliant with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Parts Manager Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of management experience or equivalent, plus at least one year in a service drive or auto parts retail or wholesale environment.
- A proven ability to hire, coach, hold accountable and lead a team to departmental goals.
- Strong business math and analytical skills, including margins, ratios, percentages and turning data into management reports.
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of the federal, provincial and local regulations that affect parts operations.
- A motivating team builder who inspires people, gains buy-in and delegates with confidence.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, works with urgency and competes to hit goals.
- A warm, persuasive communicator who connects quickly with customers and peers.
- Energized by variety and change, and able to juggle multiple priorities at pace.
- A decision-maker who involves the team but owns the risk and the result.
$60,000-$80,000 per year plus monthly incentive bonus
