We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our Accounting team.

As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, supporting financial reporting requirements, managing transfer pricing documentation, and advising the business on tax matters related to growth, operations, and cross-border activity.

This is a role for a detail-oriented and proactive tax professional to oversee tax compliance, reporting, planning, and process improvement across multiple jurisdictions.

In this role, you will:

Tax Compliance and Reporting

Prepare, review, and file indirect tax returns accurately and on time across applicable jurisdictions.
Ensure VAT, GST/HST, sales tax, and other indirect tax requirements are properly reflected in invoicing and reporting processes.
Prepare tax-related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure compliance with IFRS and corporate policies.
Estimate current and deferred tax exposures for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting purposes.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation to support tax filings, reconciliations, and audit requirements.

Tax Planning and Strategy

Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Provide practical tax guidance on new business initiatives, cross-border transactions, restructuring, and other strategic projects.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and indirect tax requirements across relevant jurisdictions and assess their impact on the business.
Research and support applications for applicable tax credits, incentives, and government subsidy programs.
Identify tax risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions to management.
Conduct ad hoc tax research and provide clear recommendations on evolving rules, regulations, and business requirements.

Transfer Pricing

Maintain and update intercompany transfer pricing policies and documentation in line with OECD guidelines and local requirements.
Monitor intercompany transactions to ensure they comply with established transfer pricing policies.
Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation for all intercompany transactions.
Ensure intercompany agreements align with transfer pricing policies and applicable requirements.

Collaboration and Communication

Communicate with tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions and monitor the organization's tax position.
Work closely with external tax advisors to support corporate tax filings and ensure ongoing tax compliance.
Partner with Accounting, Legal, Sales, and other stakeholders to provide timely and accurate tax support.
Communicate effectively with external auditors and internal stakeholders on direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing matters.
Translate complex tax matters into clear, practical guidance for business partners.

Process Improvement and Controls

Evaluate and improve tax processes, controls, and documentation to enhance compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Streamline and automate the extraction of information required for tax analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
Implement and leverage tax technology solutions where appropriate to improve reporting quality and reduce manual effort.

You are a great fit if you have:

5+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in a multinational or multi-jurisdictional environment.
Strong knowledge of corporate tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing principles.
Experience working with tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Familiarity with IFRS and financial reporting processes.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience with process improvement, automation, or tax technology solutions.
Experience working at an international accounting firm.
Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, Master of Taxation) or equivalent tax experience
Ability to own the company’s tax function and provide strategic tax recommendations and guidance to support business objectives
