Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days remote)
Salary Range: $110,000 – $140,000 CAD
Job Summary:
Prevue is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the architecture, delivery, and operational health of our software solutions, built on C# / .NET and deployed on AWS. This is a technical leadership role: you'll spend most of your time on system design, AWS infrastructure, DevOps ownership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration, with hands-on coding as a smaller but ongoing part of the job. Deep AWS expertise and significant DevOps experience are required - you're accountable for how our systems are built, deployed, and kept running in production, not just for writing code.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture and technical direction of software solutions, setting standards for design, coding practices, and quality.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate project requirements into technical specifications and system designs.
- Manage, maintain, and monitor AWS infrastructure supporting our web and database servers, including provisioning, scaling, security, and cost optimization.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, driving DevOps best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate developers, leading code reviews and supporting their skill development.
- Write and review code in C# / .NET where hands-on involvement is needed - critical features, complex bugs, proofs of concept, and setting implementation patterns for the team to follow.
- Drive the full software development life cycle: requirements gathering, system design, implementation oversight, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, including production infrastructure and deployment problems, proposing efficient solutions.
- Stay current on AWS services, DevOps tooling, .NET ecosystem updates, and industry best practices, and bring that knowledge back to the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, customer success, and designers, to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software solutions.
- Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of applications and AWS infrastructure for enhanced efficiency and scalability.
- Document software designs, technical specifications, system architectures, and infrastructure configurations to support knowledge sharing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software development team, advocating for automation, DevOps best practices, and process enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Significant, demonstrable experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation/CDK)
- Strong DevOps background: CI/CD pipeline design, infrastructure as code, containerization, monitoring/observability
- Strong experience with C# and .NET (Framework and/or Core) - enough to write code when needed, though this is not primarily a day-to-day coding role
- Proven experience leading software projects, architecture decisions, and mentoring developers
- Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum practices
Additional Benefits:
- Full medical, dental, and extended health coverage
- Wellness allowance
- Hybrid work schedule (3 from home, 2 in office)
- RRSP/TFSA matching program
- Extensive paid training and professional development opportunities
- Educational allowance
- Casual office environment
