On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Business Systems Analyst for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Business Systems Analyst - Job Description

The Senior Systems Business Analyst is responsible for bridging business needs and technology solutions. This role involves leading requirements analysis for complex initiatives, translating business objectives into system requirements, supporting solution design, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery partners to ensure solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.

Business Systems Analyst - Responsibilities

Lead the identification, analysis, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and system requirements for projects, enhancements, and production support initiatives.
Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable system requirements, including functional specifications, business rules, process flows, data mappings, and interface requirements.
Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to assess current-state processes, identify gaps and root causes, define future-state requirements, and recommend practical system-based solutions.
Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to gather, clarify, and validate requirements.
Perform system, process, and data analysis to support solution design, impact assessments, defect investigation, and resolution of data quality issues.
Develop and maintain key analysis artifacts, including process maps, data flows, use cases, gap analyses, data mapping documents, and test scenarios.
Coordinate and support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, test scenario development, defect triage, results validation, and issue resolution.

Business Systems Analyst - Mandatory Skills

Undergraduate degree in a technology-related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
5–7 years of experience in systems analysis, business systems analysis, or a related role.
Strong knowledge of requirements gathering, systems analysis, process modeling, data analysis, and solution delivery.
Solid understanding of business processes and end-to-end system delivery.
Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

Business Systems Analyst – Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience using Power BI for reporting and analysis.
Knowledge of data analysis, process mapping, system integrations, and application impacts.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong client service focus.
Ability to mentor peers and assist business users with application-related questions.

Business Systems Analyst – Assignment Length

This is a 6 month contract position.
